It looks like they may have tested for the wrong thing. There are several forms of estrogen. T converts to estradiol also known as E2. This is the one that gives us the most trouble. If its E2 this converts to US units of about 41. Which is just slightly high. If it is not E2 it is likely total estrogens which is not very informative generally. If so you need to request an E2 test. ________________ I am human; nothing in humanity is alien to me. Terence Quote

Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 I have converted the test results. The test states Estradiol -17 Beta - 150 pmol/L which converts to roughly 41. I have a simple question: should we be shooting for a level of 20? I will be seeing a Urologist tomorrow and would like to get a trial of estrogen suppression started then. The increased frequency of injection will also be discussed (my GP wants assurance that this is OK long term, prudent). Thanks all for responses. Louis ---- Original Message ---- From: pmgamer18@... Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 My symptoms include: - hot and sweaty - sore joints and cannot exercise too much (even walking) - sleep badly and therefore am tired - if I get mad I really spit fire at someone - sadly can be my boy who receives it - Yes. I can feel emotion well up inside at cerimonies etc. It has been a bit of a learning curve for me because I was OK during the initial few months of June and July and everything was an improvement. Then it has started to get worse, especially as the dose was increase. I would have 4 bad days then feel good for 10, then have 7 bad then 7 good. The pattern says it has been building up. Lately it has been 14 bad no good ones. I can still work though (not manually). I will see the urologist tomorrow. I have all my articles copied along with my test results. I will be pushing to get more frequent injections and try to suppress the E2. Wish me luck up here in Canada! Quote
Guest guest Posted September 27, 2006 Report Posted September 27, 2006 Hey Louis - in US units (pg/ml) that would give you ~ 40. This typically is considered high. You have to go by the symptoms however. For me that's anxiety, I get flushed easily and ED. I also have noticed I get emotional just watching TV!!!! Isn't that manly!! Guest guest Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 Hey Arkansas...that certainly is manly. LOL I've got all that...flush in an instant, cry watching tv shows, massive water retention, and even a touch of ED. I'm curious, for those of you with any ED symptoms... are you able to get an erection at all. My issue isn't so much getting an erection, but maintaining one once acheived. Really hard to keep it up, and even my firmest of erections is far less big and hard as a few years ago. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Dan Meatheany Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2006 9:26 AM Subject: Re: Estrogen Test Results - Too high? Guest guest Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 For me, I had a hard time (no pun intended) getting one. Just trying to get aroused for sex was almost impossible. The majority of the time, I would start to get one and then it would just go away. I could take things into my own hands (literally) and get one but probably 80% stiff. Sometimes it wouldn't make it through the whole trip!!! This got me started on performance anxiety which I believe E2 makes even worse. This is really a sucky place to be for a guy. These symptoms were when my E2 was ~ 55. When my E2 gets down to ~ 20, these issues went away. Arkansas Dave <groups@...> wrote: Hey Arkansas...that certainly is manly. Guest guest Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 The one time I remember having a fit of crying coincided about two days after one (of only two) of my monthly injections of T.cyp. The dose was 400mg and the level of E2 must have been sky high. If I would do something simple and innocuous like looking at an old postcard that brought back memories, my eyes would well up with tears and I couldn't shake it. And all during this time, there was some logic center in my brain thinking " ...what the hell...? " If this sort of thing is somehow related to womens' PMS, you gals have my sympathy, lol. Guest guest Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 I was having a hell of a time finding the Zone now that I am using less on my T shot. It took me a good 6 weeks to get it right. The window is dam small and trying to stay in this window on Arimidex is dam hard. I tried .5 every 5 days and this had me low then high. Doing .25 every 3 days I felt to low so I tried every 5 days nothing changed. It turns out .25 every otherday is putting me in the Zone and this morning it stayed up so long I thought I need to go to the ER :-) I do a blood test this Wed. so we will see if I am right.
