Well, Dr. Kumar, we share much in common, but I think most

importantly we both like to help late stage cancer patients who have

been chewed up and spit out by the system, and we both consider it an

honor and duty to serve the poor. I run a non-profit in Del Mar,

California. This area has got to be one of the wealthiest on the

planet. It was my hope to be able encourage the wealthy to share

their good fortune with the poor. Unfortunately it seems that most

have obtained their wealth only through cleverly making others destitute.

Sadly, I have had to conclude that most wealthy people not only look

down on the poor, but positively delight in their personal

contributions to their misery. Of course they posture

otherwise. They'll spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a gala

to raise a few hundred dollars and " awareness " of the plight of the

less fortunate. Of course every once in a while they are hoisted by

their own petard. One can't help but reflect. A billionaire who

lived a stone's throw from our Center died of cancer (unnecessarily)

and bequeathed hundreds of millions of dollars to orchestras,

etc. The wealthy want their " conspicuous consumption " to continue

long after they are gone.

Perhaps some day it will be our mutual good fortune to be able to

trade staff members. I would love to be able to give better

presentations of traditional siddha and unani methods, for

example. If time permitted I would not mind giving seminars in India

on Thomsonian botanic medicine as practiced in the US during the

early and middle eighteen hundreds. I will send a topics agenda off list.
