Guest guest
Hi Marti, Thanks very much for your kind thoughts. Sorry to hear you're facing surgery yourself. When I had my op they gave me a total numb block in my arm by an injection in the armpit to help combat the pain afterwards. I was on morphine for the first 24 hours and afterwards 2 Kapake (co-codamol) every 4 hours. I found that after 4/5 days I could manage without pain meds and get by with diclofenac only. It still hurts and aches but I guess we're all used to a level of pain. I saw the O.T today and things are looking good. I have some exercises to do, hopefully resulting in my being able to make a fist. The worse part of the experience so far has been the frustration of not being able to do much. Whenever I had a bad day with my hands I could always split between the two, it's very difficult with one hand especially when that isn't very functional. At the moment I would say I was only really bad for the first week. Take Care x
