Guest guest
.. > > Any advice from ya'll established Remicade users? What > should I expect? Any info would be appreciated. > Hi , I loved remicade. It was the best med I've had so far. Take a book to read while getting your infusion. It takes at least 2 hours. You will probably have a loading period where you go back in 2 weeks, then a month, and then 6-8 weeks. I exprienced some small problems in the beginning which were easily remedied. I got hives and was told to take benedryl before a treatment. It worked. Also , I got dizzy and so they slowed the infusion rate and that helped. It had to do with fluid balance. It cleared my skin within 2 weeks. I didn't even know p could clear that fast. It took longer for it to help my pa, I'd say a good 3-4 months but then it really helped. so hang in here with it. If I can answer any other qustions let me know.....and good luck! I'm excited for you, Marti

I got hives from the contrast media they used in my CT. And if there is an uncommon side effect of a drug, I'll usually get it. That's what makes me nervous That is not an uncommon side effect. Did they ask you if you were allergic to shellfish before they gave you the contrast? Usually if you are they will not give it to you. There are many people that do react to it. Guest guest
One of the men who works with my husband said he felt absolutely better immediately after the first dose of Remicade! He says if it were not for Remicade he would be unable to work at all! Good luck! I hope it works wonders for you! Sharon > > I loved remicade. I have had so many reactions to differet meds I feel like it takes a big mental psych up just to try a new one. So, congrats on your bravery too! Guest guest
I call remicade a 'miracle'. I seem to only have it in my hands. Prior to the remicade, we hadnt hit on the combination that worked. And day by day, the PA got noticeably worse. It was scarey. Then she put me on remicade. The psoriasis cleared up...and the pa is kept in check and kept from worsening. It is very expensive, but like with you, my insurance pays for it all. I am blessed. Good luck. Robbi > > Woo Hoo!
