Hi Margaret. You seem to be describing " sausage toe " which is quite common with

PA. Are you on any other medication for the PA? Some of the DMARDS and

biologics help people with sausage digits.

Wishing you wellness,

Kathy F.

Does anyone else have a very sore toe? I have P in my big toe nail

and the surrounding toe is always red and sore - anyone any advice on

what will help. Antibiotics have failed and at the moment I just put

neat tea tree oil on it, helps a little but still so sore and red

Hi Margaret

I also have a very sore left big toe with P. I do not think antibiotics

will work as with P there is an increase in uric acid. Suggest you get

your uric acid level checked. Simple blood test. I am on a drug which is

called Allomoran in South Africa. If interested I can get the chemical

composition.

Advice - YES - go to the Dr. My trip down the bad side of this disease

started with a sore toe, it ultimately turned into osteomyelitis and a 10 day

hospital stay. Please do this, and continue until it is better.

Take Care,

This is the SAME thing I do!!

I soak my toenail for a half hour or so and then again in between if I need

to soften the nail more.
