I had the same issues as you are describing...pain, bruising, running out of

places to stab

myself. One day I decided to go for it, and I gave myself an injection in my

abdomen.

After, I wondered why I never tried it before. There is little to no pain, no

bruising, and I

don't have the bubble issue I would have in my legs if I didn't grab enough fat.

Try it! It is

WAY better than the legs.

inject into the abdomen?

I inject Humira in the abdomen and it is not bad at all. I was really

scared to try it at the beginning but once I did it then it was a piece of

cake.

I alternate both thighs and then right and left abdomen. Otherwise if you

inject too close to the previous site there is more chance for a reaction

locally.

I switched to my stomach because of the bruising in the legs. My legs didn't

hurt they just looked awful and I was kinda self-conscious to wear shorts. I

find it pretty easy to give the shots in the stomach, but it didn't bother me to

do it in the legs so maybe thats why. I have found that if I do it just right

that I don't feel it at all. There are times that I feel it, but it is just a

VERY TINY little poke so that isn't bad at all in my opinion. From what I

understand they can be given in the fatty part of the back of your arm but that

would be quite difficult to do by yourself. Give it a try in the stomach and

see how it goes. I still get bruising in the stomach but not nearly like the

legs. Good luck!!!

I have not posted for some time. I added Enbrel injections to my

MTX about seven months ago. The improvement in both the psoriasis

and the arthritis has been steady. My condition is fairly well

under control now, and I would hate to give up the meds. My problem

is the following: I only give myself injections on the front of my

legs. My legs do bruise and are quite sore - I seem to be running

out of fresh space for the injections. My question - How is it to

inject into the abdomen? Is there any other site I could try? I

would appreciate any advice. Even after seven months, I need to

work up the courage for every injection in the leg, I just can't

imagine stickong myself in the abdomen. Thank you for listening,

sorry I am such a coward about this.

To cdholly....from cdyost.......Glad you spoke up.

I use my abdomen for all my injections. I can't even feel them. I

alternate sides and can't recommend it highly enough. I can't imagine using

my thighs. It seems there are so many vessels there.......I am a true

patriot when it comes to my legs.....red blotches, whte skin and blue veins.

I would be afraid of hitting one. I hope you try the abdomen.
