Hi all,

My upper & middle back had been SCREAMING in pain (spine, actually) this past

week as the old muscle relaxant was doing no good. I do not know if I have AS

or if the scoliosis/kyphosis is contributing here. I am in the process of

requesting a referral to a specialist to check on the scoliosis/kyphosis.

The new muscle relaxant I am on has finally been the right one. Has anyone here

ever used zanaflex? The RX explanation says it is used for pain for MS and other

conditions??!!!

Hi, I've been on Zanaflex for almost 4 years now and you are right it is

great for relaxing your muscles. I started out on 4 a day if you can

believe that and was falling asleep standing up. I now only take one at

bedtime and it still helps me. It also is great for sleep and my daughter

takes 2 at bedtime for a sleep disorder.

As far as I know it's pretty safe, as long as you don't drive while taking

it. I think in MS it's used for the same thing, relaxing the muscles. My

doctor initially put me on it when I was having facial spasms from my TMJ

joint. If it helps, my pain doctor told me that Tiger Woods uses it after

being sore from golf...lol. I don't know if that is true or not.

Hi LeAnn,

Well, I used to work for a gal that has Cerebral Palsey and she took

that medicine for rigidity and she had a great response to it.

She was very stiff b/c of of the CP and I noticed a great difference in

lifting her after she had the medicine. Good luck!
