Guest guest
I have had PA since 1991 and I now have iritis which the eye doctor said is caused by auto immune diseases. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this and what their experience has been. My problem is I have been off all meds for three months since hubby and I started this month on trying for baby #3. I have been using eye drops for 3 weeks and it has gotten better but not completely healed. My right eye is constantly dilated (meds) so my eye sight is completely blurry. I have been able to compensate but I'm ready to have my normal eye site back. I also have my big toe that has flared up and the only thing I can do to help it is wear a post-op shoe. Several years ago I woke up with eye pain and the sclera (white part) was red and all inflamed. I went to the eye doctor and it was the same thing which he also treated with drops. I had to go to my primary care doc first due to my HMO rules. But next time I can go to the opthalmologist first because I have a history of it now. Does it hurt back to your temples? They'll want to rule out sinusitis first. That's easy...you'll have congestion with that. Let me know how it goes. Be sure and tell them you have PA and if they don't know, let them know that Iritis can be associated with PA. You can go to the link I sent and print it up for them if they need it. You can go to the Arthritis Foundation site and do a search for Iritis too I think. That might have more bearing for them. Let me know how it goes! -Betz
