Guest guest
Leonora, I believe that the biologics (Remicade, Enbrel and Humira) have been found to be more effective when used in combination with a DMARD like MTX or Arava than when used as a monotherapy. Before I was on Humira and Arava in combination, I was on MTX alone. It worked really well for me but my liver panels became too elevated to stay on it. Arava alone did absolutely nothing for my pain, swelling or stiffness. Wishing you wellness, Kathy F.
Guest guest
Lenora, I take Arava and Enbrel and the combination works well for me but it is risky business for infections and liver function. I am, however, willing to risk it for the amount of relief I get. I don't know about working quicker but for me the side effects are much less with Arava than with mtx. Good luck with your decision. Guest guest
are there any other meds other than methotrex and arava that do the same? With my liver issues, I have a feeling my hands are tied, and without them, the Remicade only works for a short time before they wear off =(
