Guest guest
Is anyone else having a hard time injecting with the new syringe? I can't get the new needle to penetrate as easily as the old one -- I have to use a lot of pressure and poke it in which hurts. This is the first problem after a year and a half of the old stuff. Am I alone on this matter? Bob
Guest guest
Bob, I'm not loving the new needle, it takes more of a jab to get it in. The last needle was great; I wish they had used it again. I am experiencing some slight, but brief discomfort from the new shot, but only for a few minutes. It must be from the preservatives. I love not having to mix and wait. Did I mention that I love not having to mix and wait.. ) Love it. Happy New Year Becky
Guest guest
I just contacted Enbrel for the second time on the needle subject. Once before I went to the Rheumy for a new prescription and just a few minuets ago because of concern the needles were bigger. I was assured that the needles are the same as used on the 25's and they have not been changed. I do remember when I started Enbrel that the second batch I got had some very dull needles and would not penetrate without hurting, that could be what you are experiencing? I am sending in my new prescription today so I hope the nurse was correct with her information. Dick

Are the needles that it come with it the typical luer lock (screw on) type? If so then you could just go to the pharmacy and get your own needles they are like 15 cents each. There was discussion of this a a couple years ago and if I remember right there is a minimum guage the needle can be without messing up the Enbrel. Something about tearing the molecules apart. Anyone remember what size that minimum was? Orin
Guest guest
I'm still on my first box, but I'm suspecting that my needles are just a bit dull. After the first shot I really didn't notice it. In fact my last injection didn't even burn.
