Guest guest
Hi - I'm also wondering why chelation would take this long. My understanding was that it would take upto probably 3 years. If Lead is involved, it may take longer, as I read lead takes a long time to come out. Everytime I get the hair tests for my kids, I often wondered from where they are getting all these toxins. In retrospect, if I look back, I myself had mercury and probably passed it onto them. That perhaps caused the predispostion to accumulate heavy metals and the inability to excrete them. And the alumimum pans,Corelle dishes that I used which might have contributed too! Madhuri > > HI, > I was just wondering why chelation would take so long? I guess I am wondering if we are somehow putting in heavy metals from our water or from our metal cooking pans? I've been researching water systems for the last 6 months and only a few remove all contaminants (chemicals and heavy metals). Yet I haven't really seen this issue discussed much. I know we are exposed like everyone else from our environment, but I hear or read that while chelating the tests show that tons and tons of this metal or that is being pulled out. How can we have tons and tons in us. Are we resupplying our load somehow? I mean more than just what's in the air (and I know that can be substantial). I'm sure, like me, everyone is doing all they can to avoid this. I guess my research on water has got me thinking. > Just curious if anyone has ever wondered about this. > Cassandra > > >
Guest guest
Where do you live? (don't tell me on the board) but some areas are heavily contaminated with metals and this could be constant daily source of it. Also, tap water, metal cookware, most foods these days unless organic contain aluminum, the list of sources goes on. You also have to take into consideration how many years of exposure before you began chelation. For example I have had 35 years of exposure, and it will probably take my over 5 years to chelate it all out, if I ever get it all out. Versus my son who I began treating at 3 years of age, so he may only take 4 years. But if after 5 years of chelation your still seeing high levels of things other than Lead..it pays to look at environment and possible daily sources. A simple PuR filter will take out heavy metals from tap water. It will not remove fluoride though. If you live in an unfluoridated area this is not an issue for you. I would suggest looking up your area on Scorecard to see what toxins are around, what pollutors etc. > > > > HI, > > I was just wondering why chelation would take so long? Guest guest
Hi Kris, I'm afraid we're just getting started with chelation so I can't offer any suggestions. But I do have a question for you about the dosage that you are using for your child, which I don't think you mentioned. Have you been chelating using the upper limit of DMSA/ALA? And if not, wouldn't it make sense to increase the amount to that upper limit? Also, I take it that you have increased the dosage over the years in step with his weight gain? I didn't see any mention of dosage used & no one has asked about it to see if it's appropriate. Have you tried increasing over the years & seen improvements with increases? Just wondering if in the past, increases in dosage brought about any positives. I'm wondering why there are no responses questioning the dosage. Sorry I can't help more.
