Guest guest
HI JANET - i know my sister suffered with alopecia a few years ago; and took my advise about the use of MSM, supplement; which i found back in 1992, to be a great asset for my hair loss, which i blamed on long-term use of steroids!! MSM assists with the healing of cells; but one of its many benefits is IT PROMOTES HAIR AND FINGERNAIL GROWTH!! and.....from one who had reverted to wearing wigs, for the first time in my life - IT WORKS!! where i used to have a braid, near the nape of my neck, there was NOTHING to braid!! it had disappeared!! i couldn't believe it!! now, i have a braid that reaches past my shoulders. my sister wears her hair in dreds & they now almost reach her waistline!! TRY IT!!! i began using it for the crohn's disease; but got those other benefits, as a bonus!! have never stopped using it, since. marshiris@... crohn's disease - 17 years LDN - 1 YEARGas prices getting you down? Guest guest
MSM = methylsulfonylmethane - that's saying a mouthful, to say the least!! i was recommended its use back in the mid '90's for crohn's disease! it is said to be present in every cell of the body, & to have tissue healing properties - that's why i started taking it, then!! the hair and nail growth was a bonus!! i use VITAMIN SHOPPE BRAND, 1000 mgs. - and i take them with meals, (at least 4). this may not be the usual recommended dose, but with crohn's, i usually take over the recommended dose of most supplements, due to mal-absorption syndrome!! from the brochures that i have read about MSM, it is good for diabetics, and many other diseases! when i went into remission for an entire 8 years, i believe i owed it to the properties of MSM!! I started using it while weaning off steroids, and continued its use until today!! DO A GOOGLE!! there are many sites about it, and what it's good for!! marshiris@... Gas prices getting you down? Guest guest
Since MSM is a sulfur compound, can you take it if you are allergic to sulfa drugs? Guest guest
JULIE - i didn't FEEL anything happening when i started taking MSM, nor do i FEEL anything happening now, from its use; all i know is - it is doing SOMETHING - if nothing else, i now have to get my hair cut, ever so often to wear it in the style i have now chosen!! and, whenever i see my sister's dreds, i know it works!! she also combined it, at my suggestion, with condroitin & glucosomine, when her doctor had her wearing a soft brace on her knee, that would give way, and she was falling down in the streets, and in her home. my sister's knee is fully functional, now & she has sold her soft brace!!!! this is a young 57 year old lady, who goes out dancing almost every weekend!!! i told this group about MSM when i first came on this forum, 1 1/2 years ago; obviously, it is just catching on!! sometimes, messages don't reach us the first time we hear it!! I'M GLAD YOU'RE ALL PAYING ATTENTION THIS TIME AROUND!! just as we all hope and pray that others get the message about out LDN!! Guest guest
MSM is really a first aid kit all by itself. It fights infection and inflammation, speeds wound healing, heals tissue deep within the body, helps arthritis-the list goes on and on. A tablespoon of MSM liquid comibned with a few drops of orange oil stops 's reflux in its tracks. My daughter worked in the trainer's office of the athletic department in college, and they kept MSM handy at all times. It deals with a wide variety of sports related injuries, muscle aches, strains etc. I have used it for burns, and rubs it into his joints when they are bad. He had a serious leg infection caused by inflammation and circulatory problems related to his crohn's. After his hospital stay, he muscle tested for MSM powder in juice. You could literally see the swelling in his leg go down and the dry flaking skin and healing scabs turn smooth. Here are a few links on it: http://www.nutrisana.com/html/MSM_En.htm http://www.nutrisana.com/html/MSM_En.htm--- On Sat, 6/21/08, marshiris@... <marshiris@...> wrote: From: marshiris@... <marshiris@...>Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Re: 6 weeks LDN & weird eyelash loss RedPill where a...low dose naltrexone Date: Saturday, June 21, 2008, 7:16 AM JULIE - i didn't FEEL anything happening when i started taking MSM, nor do i FEEL anything happening now, from its use; all i know is - it is doing SOMETHING - if nothing else, i now have to get my hair cut, ever so often to wear it in the style i have now chosen!! and, whenever i see my sister's dreds, i know it works!! she also combined it, at my suggestion, with condroitin & glucosomine, when her doctor had her wearing a soft brace on her knee, that would give way, and she was falling down in the streets, and in her home. my sister's knee is fully functional, now & she has sold her soft brace!!!! this is a young 57 year old lady, who goes out dancing almost every weekend!!! i told this group about MSM when i first came on this forum, 1 1/2 years ago; obviously, it is just catching on!! sometimes, messages don't reach us the first time we hear it!! Guest guest
We use the Vitamin Shoppe brand too. I love their stuff-their Co Q 10 is high quality and compounded with D-limonene to aid absorption. They also go to great lengths to be sure that their vitamins come from Japan, not China From: marshiris@... <marshiris@...>Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Re: 6 weeks LDN & weird eyelash loss RedPill where a...low dose naltrexone Date: Friday, June 20, 2008, 11:49 PM MSM = methylsulfonylmetha ne - that's saying a mouthful, to say the least!! i was recommended its use back in the mid '90's for crohn's disease! it is said to be present in every cell of the body, & to have tissue healing properties - that's why i started taking it, then!! the hair and nail growth was a bonus!! i use VITAMIN SHOPPE BRAND, 1000 mgs.
