I believe I remember reading that the outer skin of the leaf has toxic

ingredients.

Those pushing Aloe usually speak about the gel. No expert here but I would

look into it before using the whole leaf.

Has anyone tried making their own whole leaf aloe drink by...

1 aloe leaf (thorns removed) everything else intact, 1 1/2 cups

distilled water, blended at high speed. 2-3 tablespoons per day.

I have done this. Any comments.

I still have reservations about using the entire leaf, skin and all. Do I

have proof that it is bad? No! Have I read that it is? Yes.

I have also read that there is a lot of deterioration of the beneficial

parts of aloe after cutting so I wonder if using a bit every day of a mashed

up mess of Aloe Gel would be useful?

Perhaps the essential parts of aloe do not deteriorate after cutting,

however, oxidation is involved and don't we worry about other things

exposed to air?

Perhaps some 'expert' on aloe will clear this up for us un-informed. How we

will know if it is an expert? That is another issue. Maybe someone with

experience using aloe can do the job.
