Guest guest
Donna, It sounds like you are living in one of those awful scenarios where one of the partners has a drug or alcohol problem. This kind of stress you don't need and it may even have contributed to your health situation. I've been there and I know. I can truly say that, from experience, the best thing you could do is try to attend some AA meetings and find some support and advice. Actually I believe they may have a separate meeting for for spouses of alcoholics. usually this kind of advice is met with a certain level of resentment. I apologize if so, I mean to help only. My wife had a drug problem that unbelievably screwed up my life. I don't need to bore you with the details of the arrests, the courts, losing and regaining my children several times, etc. etc. The only thing that finally worked was al anon. By then the incredible stress for so many years had already contributed to my cancer situation, though I will never know if it caused it. Good luck to you and best wishes.
