I don't know of any saliva testing labs that do DHT (I have never

done saliva testing), but Quest Diagnostics will do a DHT test. I

had one a week or so ago. They actually had to farm the blood out to

another lab to run the test, so it delayed the test results by 5

days. I am not sure if you have something similar in Canada.

I was only on propecia for 6 months been off for years, I kept hoping

the side effects would go away but never did. Anyways, I don't know

if I can get my DHT levels measured in BC, Canada. I tried contacting

Quest Diagnostics, but I could only call their number from within the

US.

If there are any Canadians here, that know of how I can get my DHT

levels tested, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

Those fuckers at Merck are full of shit, I remember seeing an

interview on Dateline or something a few years back when Propecia,

and the guy from Merck said DHT is a useless hormone and they don't

know what it's used for.

What a bunch of lying fucks.

Sorry for the language, just pissed off that companies would put

money ahead of our health and well being.

Hi mfb,

My issue with Merck, is that they lied to the general population. I

think they were fully aware that DHT wasn't a useless hormone as they

claimed during the interview. Shipen's book, was written in 2001, Im

sure Shipen wasn't the one that discovered what DHT was used for, so

Im sure there were earlier reports out on what DHT was used for. In

fact athletes use it for performance enhancement. For them to tell

people that DHT is a useless hormone is absolutely wrong. The general

population, me included believed them at the time.

I have had my fair share of doctors telling me it was in my head, and

it was really frustrating.

Please let me know on your progress with your doctors. I have an appt

with a hypogonadism expert coming up, my urologist told me he's one

of the top guys in Canada and possibily the world in hypogonadism, so

hopefully he'll have some usefull information I could share with

everyone.

Was your PCP able to successfully cure people with propecia side

effects?
