Guest guest
Traci If you have a question(s) please go ahead and ask. As a group when we don't have questions or problems to try to answer we tend to wander and chat. Don't let our chatting get in the way of getting support that you may need. Hugs Jo P.S. Sometimes the other Keshishian list is more suited to people who don't like the off topic chatter. That list does not produce the Volume of post that this one does. Guest guest
Well said Jim! Also I hear what Mel is saying as we all need to be careful to keep the threads " clean " so those who want to avoid certain topic lines don't miss relevant DS information that might be added to certain threads. I love that our group is " friends " and that we can talk like friends not just WLS patients! hugs, cindy lee > I'm sorry you feel driven from the group, Traci. Anyone who needs support deserves it, but if this group isn't what You need, I don't see sense in wasting your time. My only question is if the topic was offensive, then why continue to read the thread? Delete it and be done with it that way those who are interestred can read it. I know some are offended by talk of Farting and pooping so I add that to the topic line if it occurs, so why not with other topics? Our group is a bunch of diverse people. What offends you might be of significance to me. I had asked about the film, and plan to see it. It was interesting to see others reaction to it. I still maintain that with appropriate subject headers the topic was fine. While I don't go to church now, I do believe. I respect your right to believe as you feel and expect you to not stand in judgement of me for whatever I believe or don't believe. Your condemnation of the post in question was judgemental of the author because she expressed her belief. Yet you condemn her for standing in judgement of others....Funny huh? With this I shall shut my mouth and end my say on this topic. in Bama VBG 1982 (lost from 433lbs to 270's) VBG -RNY1996 revision(Lost from 343 to 299) RNY-DS revision Dec 2002 -down 130 lbs (377.7 to 247.2 and still going) BMI 39.4...No longer Morbidly obese! Guest guest
I don't mean mentioning Jesus or religion as wrong in general. If you re-read this post I am refering to, you might see what I mean. This post/topic in particular was directly offensive to those non-believers or those not very active in the religious community. It was slamming certain individuals, and I think most people didn't see it that way because they are highly religious so the first half of it was very meaningful and the second half did not effect them. I have my own Christian beliefs and morals, but do not practice in the church any longer. I am not offended at all by religious mention, prayers, and debate on films and such. I am offended by non-belief bashing statements. I, again, will be taking a break anyway, so don't feel the need to stop all your chatter. I am not getting the surgery anyway at this point, so I really have no business here. Take care, continue on... >From: MDL1031@... >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Wrong >Date: Wed, 3 Mar 2004 03:34:24 EST > >In a message dated 3/2/2004 11:46:00 PM Central Standard Time, >tracibrown1@... writes: >absolutely innapropriate for a weight loss group.
