Guest guest
I have been on 5g of Androgel daily since early January of this year. I am in about the same boat as you. The crying at the drop of a hat has quit and my attitude is much improved. I do feel though as I still have a " cloud " of depression that hangs around. Some days are better than others and most days are just fine. I am thinking about going to see a doctor before much longer to talk about it. My uro didn't seem to think much of it before when I talked about it. Instead I was told to exercise more and exercise my brain more. Which may be true - but I may also through a trip to my GP to see what he thinks. > > > I was just wondering how long will it take for the depression to > vanish once I got my T and E2 levels back to normal? > > Since I started using Androgel every day (5 g) about 7 weeks ago I > feel much better (I do not cry out of control anymore, I do not fight > with my wife for the issue of 19 years ago (it still shows its ugly > face from time to time and wrecs havoc with me, but I am more in > control)) and my spirits are for the most part better; still the > depression is kind of latent and making sure I know it is not going > away without a fight. > > I was under the spell of this depression for about one year without > knowing it. Guest guest
Many guys find 5g too low a dose. The system appears to " get used " to 5g after an initial surge. Inevitably, the answer is to hike the dose to 7.5g, monitor for a couple of weeks, then hike again to 10, if necessary. I am now on 10g daily and manage ok. No clouds. nick > Re: Low T and depression > > > > I have been on 5g of Androgel daily since early January of this year. > I am in about the same boat as you. Guest guest
Hola, Flaco- I don't think there's a solid way of predicting depression recovery time. With hormones under control you'll probably see continuing improvement. Your wife and you have been through a rough time. Now that the biochemical aspect is abating, the situational depression will probably respond to discussion therapy. The main thing is to talk things out with her. Sometimes a counselor is useful. What do you think? Peace, Bruce > > > I was just wondering how long will it take for the depression to > vanish once I got my T and E2 levels back to normal? > > Since I started using Androgel every day (5 g) about 7 weeks ago I > feel much better (I do not cry out of control anymore, I do not fight > with my wife for the issue of 19 years ago (it still shows its ugly > face from time to time and wrecs havoc with me, but I am more in > control)) and my spirits are for the most part better; still the > depression is kind of latent and making sure I know it is not going > away without a fight. > > I was under the spell of this depression for about one year without > knowing it. Guest guest
Bruce: Thanks! I will continue to observe my improvement a little longer before I attempt to make any changes.
