I think doctors prescribe quite conservatively and perhaps your's has done so. You need to get the estrogen down pretty quickly because yours is above the normal " range " if I read your post correctly. A week is not long enough I don't think, they usually like a month on a prescription before a blood test. norton

For those of you who have or are taking Arimidex, how >long did you take the drug before you started to notice some changes? It took several weeks for me to really feel better. My E2 was a lot lower than yours. (49) I started on a full 1mg tablet a day for the first week and then went to .5mg daily for a couple weeks. it dropped to 17. now I do 3 to 4 days a week at .5 mg. No test yet to see where that puts me. But I feel good. Results seem to vary widely. Some take one .5mg dose a week and get low levels others are taking as much a 1mg daily to maintain levels. It's highly variable. See how the numbers come in and let us know.

You should be shooting for mid range and perhaps slightly below it to feel good. the upper end of normal could put you at the top 5 to 10% still. For those of you who have or are taking Arimidex, how > long did you take the drug before you started to notice some changes? > > Jim ------------------------------------- Jim, I forgot to add that as important as arimdex is to block estrogen you equally need to get the estrogen out of your body. I take two " PhytoPharmica " Indolplex with DIM every day, it is highly absorbable and promotes urinating out the estrogen, this on the advice of my excellent compounding pharmacy, I also take one Nature's Life 50mg Zinc pill that has 2.5 mg of copper in in, I get both at Wild Oats Market. I think you need to both block and get estrogen out of you, go shopping! norton
