Guest guest
Hi Steve, HCG will only work if your hypogonadism is secondary. I'm not sure whether HCG is best given intramuscularly or subcutaneously. If you have a choice, go for subq, it's usually easier to self-inject. IM usually requires hitting the backside, difficult if you don't have a helper. Sometimes IM injections can be given in the thigh. I've done both for T injection. Wise to do your first one at the doc's office, under supervision. My wife learned how to do posterior IM injections for me, she did them better than the nurse. Subcutaneous injection instruction link: http://www.cc.nih.gov/ccc/patient_education/pepubs/subq.pdf Intramuscular injection instruction link: http://devweb3.vip.ohio-state.edu/Materials/PDFDocs/medicatn/geninfo/intrain j.pdf (Note: sometimes long url addresses are " broken " , if so, cut & paste to browser address bar.) Hope the HCG works for you. Guest guest
I give myself 2 shots per week of HCG and 6 per week of HGH. I use an insulin syringe to inject SubQ = subcutaneously or under the skin, as opposed to intramuscularly or IM. Because the injection is not in the muscle the needle is extremely thin and it can hardly be felt. I inject wherever there's fat, usually around the tummy, by pinching a fold of skin then sticking the needle in. The first time you do it, it is a little weird but you get used to it. There may be a tiny pricking sensation as you go through the outer cell layers, then nothing. In about 100 injections I have only thought ouch once or twice, and that was when I deliberately injected into a fatty lipoma. They apparently have more nerves and blood vessels. Bottom line, nothing to worry about, really! _____ From: sbryant511 [mailto:no_reply ] Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 1:41 PM Subject: Considering HCG. Need advice for injection sites and techniques Hello all: I have been on either androderm(not effective), androgel(much better), and Nexos compounded cream(surprisingly good results)for about a year and a half. My testicles have atrophied, and I would like to try HCG. The idea of giving myself shots is a bit scary. Looking for suggestions of shot locations and techniques. Thanks in advance Steve B
Guest guest
Hi Steve, Hcg can be injected either subcutaenously or intramuscularly. The SUB method is far easier and is just as an effective form of administration. The most important rule for Hcg is keep your dosages on or below 500 ius per shot. More frequent injections are better than larger doses once a week. Ideally small amounts daily would be perfect, but that may not be practical, so 500 ius 2-3 times a week may work for you. A 27g syringe is used and I inject into the abdomen. It would be best to have a doctor show you of course. I think you will feel better even if your testes are only capable of partial function. > Hello all: > > I have been on either androderm(not effective), androgel(much > better), and Nexos compounded cream(surprisingly good results)for > about a year and a half. > > My testicles have atrophied, and I would like to try HCG. Guest guest
I just started hcG, I use a 28g needle do sub q injections into my love handles, barely feel it. I did the inital test, 5000 IU IM in my leg with a 23 ga needle. that stung a little. But it worked amazingly. withing 2 weeks my testicles have regained size. currently on 500 IUs 3 to 4 x/week Bob > Hello all: > > I have been on either androderm(not effective), androgel(much > better), and Nexos compounded cream(surprisingly good results)for > about a year and a half. > > My testicles have atrophied, and I would like to try HCG. See my HCG Primer (2 of 8 in the files section) for scientific studies demonstrating that SQ is just as effective as IM. > The most important rule for Hcg is keep your dosages > on or below 500 ius per shot. Agreed. See HCG primer 2 of 2 for Dr. Shippen's HCG Protocol > A 27g syringe is used... Why such a thick needle? I used 30 gauge until recently when they came out with 31 gauge. Sometimes I don't even feel it go in. > ...and I inject into the abdomen. I inject in the upper thigh per Dr. Shippen's instructions. Don't know if it's any more or less effective than the abdomen. -
