Guest guest
Bruce it is to bad we can't get to work out on how bad some Dr.'s are like 20 20 or 60 min. Then may be they would wake up if my Dr. could learn how to treat this and he is busy anyone Dr. should be able to. Phil Bruce Harvey <bruceharvey@...> wrote: Hi. Guest guest
Phil- Now that I think more about it, competence, in any profession, ranges from very bad to very good. You, I or a TV expose' isn't going to change that. I'll probably continue to get " red ass " on the subject, but that doesn't help. I think the best I can do is to help people find the right doctor, sooner rather than later. I've learned some screening techniques (through hard experience). I'd like to hone them into a " how to " document. Here's a question for a doctor before making a first appointment: " Are you a member of the AACE? " I mean, there has to be SOMEBODY out there who's read the guidelines. Your doctor (and Dave's) are good examples of good doctors. They didn't know about hypogonadism, but they knew that they didn't know. Bad docs don't know how to treat HG, but are convinced that they do. If enough docs realize they're losing business because they don't meet patients' standards, maybe they;ll get the message. Rant, rant, rant, Bruce > Hi. > > I'm fuming over another post where an endo says " very low normal " is healthy. > > I would love to find that endo in the following situation: one of his feet is frozen > in a block of ice, and the other in boiling water. Guest guest
You are right the last Endro I was to see was so bad the I told him and at that time I did not know much. I told him he did not know what he was doing and don't send me a bill and I never got one. Doing this lets them know but who does this when I go out to eat and the food is bad I tell them how many times do you hear some one complain but never to the problem maker. Guest guest
Good point! I haven't posted in a while; you all may recall I was on Androgel for 5 months because two different blood tests showed Total T levels of around 130 and then 215 (normal is 260 to 800+), and equally disturbingly low Free T's. 1 Pack AG got me to 1100 and then 1500 T, but E2 got too high, followed by symptoms of high E2. When I asked about E2 management the IM doc freaked and referred me to the Endo, who has me off all hormones for a month until she can draw all the labs the original doc should have but didn't (LH, FSH, etc). The most disturbing part of dealing with this Endo was her comment that 215 was low for my age, but not far out of the normal range - as if I should be happy at that low! WHAT ABOUT THE SYMPTOMS, DOC!?!?!?!?! After just three weeks off the AG I am back to zero libido, some serious depression, problems with quality sleep, and just about all I can do to even get a soft hard-on...I'd be dreaming if I thought the ones I get lately were useful. Nocturnal erections and/or " morning wood " have also gone the way of the dodo bird. When will docs learn, patients are individuals, not a number on the lab report. > Statistical Rant > > Hi. > > I'm fuming over another post where an endo says " very low > normal " is healthy. > > I would love to find that endo in the following situation: > one of his feet is frozen in a block of ice, and the other in > boiling water.
