Guest guest
hey guys, I have been looking for information about the new gel testim and how it's different from androgel. anyone used testim? It's pretty new on the market, but has to be somehow different/better or this little co. wouldn't be competing with Big Pharm... Only info is from the site, www.auxilium.com, and a couple local MDs who said " yeah, based on the clinical data that I got from the company and the lower cost, I'm going to prescribe it " anyone? Guest guest
Have been on Testim for about 2 months, very very good response. Doc told me testim gets better absorption of T. look at company's website, there's reading info there. > hey guys, > > I have been looking for information about the new gel testim and how > it's different from androgel. anyone used testim? > > It's pretty new on the market, but has to be somehow different/better > or this little co. wouldn't be competing with Big Pharm... > > Only info is from the site, www.auxilium.com, and a couple local MDs > who said " yeah, based on the clinical data that I got from the > company and the lower cost, I'm going to prescribe it " > > anyone? Guest guest
I have switched from androgel to testim and all the literature indicates that the absorbtion level is better (eventually requiring less product) and the side effects are suppose to be less. I switched because my insurance company found testim cheaper. The only complaint I have is the smell - it lasts forever and makes me sneeze. On the other hand androgel does not smell... Did you have an issue with the smell?
Guest guest
I have Aetna EPO and was switched from androgel to testim. My insurance company is treating testim as the generic and two boxes a month costs me $15 dollars vs $45 dollars for androgel. Documentation reflects that testim may have less androgenic side effects (ance, gyno, testicle shrinkage). I have not yet found a difference, except for the smell. Androgel is odorless with 5 minutes, while testim seems to stink for hours - but not too many people have complained.
Guest guest
Guys, What is the cost comparison between Androgel and Testim? I am with an HMO and do not even know what will be covered. y > > hey guys, > > > > I have been looking for information about the new gel testim and > how > > it's different from androgel. anyone used testim? > > > > It's pretty new on the market, but has to be somehow > different/better > > or this little co. wouldn't be competing with Big Pharm... > > > > Only info is from the site, www.auxilium.com, and a couple local > MDs > > who said " yeah, based on the clinical data that I got from the > > company and the lower cost, I'm going to prescribe it " > > > > anyone? Guest guest
Is Testim a perfumed product (fragrance added) or does it have an unintended odor? > I have Aetna EPO and was switched from androgel to testim. Guest guest
test, delivery agent and preservatives - no fragrances. I have developed an alergy to mold last year, maybe the preservative is a form of mold - lol. You let me know if you find the smell offensive. seeya
Guest guest
I have Blue Cross and Testim is covered. I was told if A-gel is covered, there's a 99% chance that Testim is too. A pharmacist at CVS told me that Testim costs $204.99 versus a-gel at $224.99 for thirty 5g doses. The website does refer to the higher absorption--there's apparantly a study: www.auxilium.com > > > hey guys, > > > > > > I have been looking for information about the new gel testim and > > how > > > it's different from androgel. anyone used testim? > > > > > > It's pretty new on the market, but has to be somehow > > different/better > > > or this little co. wouldn't be competing with Big Pharm... > > > > > > Only info is from the site, www.auxilium.com, and a couple local > > MDs > > > who said " yeah, based on the clinical data that I got from the > > > company and the lower cost, I'm going to prescribe it " > > > > > > anyone? Guest guest
I am not crazy about the fragrance either--smells like Jovan musk-- though now I hardly notice it. small price to pay for higher T- levels! I have found that the further away from my face I apply Testim, the less I notice the smell. On my legs, belly, etc. washing my hands with soap and water helps too, without washing, unconsciously touching your face can put the fragrance near your nose. it's the natural smell of an ingredient that allows for the 30% higher absorption (pentadecalactone), not an added perfume. > I have Aetna EPO and was switched from androgel to testim. Guest guest
I thought it was one of the ingredients... Although, I was curious about your application spots.. Testim mentions not place it on the stomach as I have done for years with the androgel. Have you used androgel and if so did you apply it to your legs? I had and that is when I started noticing slight testicular atrophy. I wonder if you have seen the same. I would love to move the location of testim, but am cautious. Let me know your thoughts... Thanx much.

Guest guest
I've never used any other products. I've found that I continue to feel good regardless of where I put it on my body. No indication of any testicular atrophy, but it may be too early to guage an effect in my experimenting with different sites. I'll definately be on the lookout though--thanks! Gels seem to absorb wherever you put them--they are have a systemmic, not local effect. I haven't found any data saying that application sites for men have different effects on anything, including atrophy, absorption, etc. I've found data suggesting that different sites have no significant effect on T-absorption in men. The recommended application sites seem to be chosen based entirely on transference studies. I cover the area and wash my hands with soap and water. It's absorbed quickly, maybe due to the pentadecalactone (the package insert says you can shower/swim after 2 hrs). I have noticed that it can feel tacky unless you rub it in for about 30 seconds to a minute. Did the atrophy stop when you stopped applying it to your legs? > I thought it was one of the ingredients... Although, I was curious about > your application spots..
