Guest guest
Hi, Supplemental testosterone often increases estrogens, particularly E2 (estradiol). Estrogen management should be a part of male hormone therapy. Side effect? If your doc's intent is to simply raise your T, then he might consider high estrogens as a " side effect " . If a doc's intent is to restore a healthy balance of male hormones, then high estrogens can be considered a deficiency in the treatment plan. Estrogen management is very important, for two reasons. First, you want to avoid feminization, like the gynecomastia & over-sensitive nipples. Second and probably more important, increased estrogens can be expected to counteract all the benefits of increased T. Minimum tests for ongoing TRT include total T, free T and E2. They should be done at least every 6 weeks at least until healthy balances are known to exist. (There are other tests that you probably haven't had, but that's a longer subject for further discussion.) BTW, can you post test results, including the ranges the lab uses? Here's what I suggest you do now (others here: please add your opinions to make sure I'm giving good advice). Order some PhytoPharmica brand Indolplex with DIM (thought to be the best brand for absorption). That can be found at: http://www.ritecare.com/prodsheets/PHY-15333.html Start with one 120mg tablet/day. Take a peek in the files section here, find " Zs Primer Articles " . I think nos. 5, 6 & 7 deal with estrogens and DIM. DIM is basically a concentration of chemicals found in cruciferous vegetables, this helps the liver get rid of excess estrogens. Another approach is medicine to inhibit the enzyme (aromatase) that converts supplemental T to E2. That might be a " hard sell " to your current doc, and IMO Indolplex with DIM should be tried first. Best, Bruce > > I have been on testim for 9 months and my breast are growing(already > had man boobs, although small) doc says its part of the process(side > effect)one problem to fix another, so long do they grow, will nipples > get sensative? any help on this is appreciated. Guest guest
It is not the testosterone that causes this it is the converson of testosterone into E2 Estradiol get it tested and if it is high keep it down I keep mine between 25 & 35. I use this Indolplex?DIM. http://www.ritecare.com/prodsheets/PHY-15336.html This link is about DIM http://www.dimfaq.com/index.htm Start taking one pill a day until you get real hard morning wood keep taking it but it the wood goes away than stop until it comes back then go back on the DIM but cut the dose in half and keep doing this until you find the window. If your E2 starts going up the first thing I have is hard and sore nipples. So you need to see how high E2 effects you. It means too much of your T is converting to E2. This needs to be corrected. E2 also robs you of most of the beneficial effects of T. These doctor idiots who accept this as a side effect are lazy and not up to date. You can bring E2 down with arimidex, DIM or aromasin. get your doctor to give you an E2 test soon and find out where you're levels are to know what remedy will best serve you. - - - - Just another albino black sheep

Good advice, but I'd insist on getting an E2 test before that to know where you're starting from. - - - - Just another albino black sheep
