Guest guest
Jeff, Stress can cause hypogonadism, so can steroids like prednisone - even a nasty viral infection. At some point you have to stop worrying about finding the cause and start focusing on treatment. Most hypo cases are idiopathic.... Guest guest
My Endo did an excellent job of ruling out all of the bad things that " could " be causing my hypogonadism. While he was not very good at " treating " me, he did an excellent job for me on ruling stuff ouot. I'm sure you have had a PSA and perhaps a test for carcinoembryonic antigen or perhaps some of the other tests to rule out cancer. I'm also assuming your prolactin has been checked and perhaps a pituitary MRI has been performed. My Endo tested me for all kinds of things. When my DHEA-S came back exceedingly high, we ran a abdominal CT scan to rule out adrenal cancer. I would look at your DHEA-S to see where it is. If it's high, perhaps a quick scan would be in order. Now, after all of that, perhaps you are idiopathic. If so, go with it and move on to treatment. I'm glad I did. y > My doctor gave me a diagnosis of idiopathic as the cause of my > hypogonadism. Guest guest
Jeff, What were your Ferritin iron levels? If you haven't checked them you should. www.ironoverload.org www.americanhs.org www.irondisorders.org In a message dated 4/2/2004 11:49:06 PM Eastern Daylight Time, jgrey@... writes: My doctor gave me a diagnosis of idiopathic as the cause of my hypogonadism.
