This is just ridiculous to require someone to make the trip in to

the doctor's office just for a one minute shot. I would not put up

with it. I would immediately ask your doctor to recommend another

doctor who is " not so controlling " and strong state your position.

This will hopefully embarrass your doctor into letting you do it or

possibly result in a referral. If neither, look for another doctor

to visit and discuss this with and then have your files transfered.

Well not to beat this to death but your doctors behavior is suspicious.

However (even though I have already concluded that your doctor is playing

financial games), lets assume that the issue is with your giving shots to

yourself (stupid issue because millions and millions of people do it

everyday). So ask your doctor if you can have a local nurse give you the

shots of the hcg that your doc prescribed. I think you will find that that

is not satisfactory too but if you want to give the doc the benefit of the

doubt then ask about that. Are we sure that this doc understands that the

shots are SQ and not intravenous?? I mean you can kill yourself with an air

bubble in an intravenous shot so there is some basis for concern there but

this is just subcutaneous for christs sake. Are all of her diabetic

patients coming in for shots six times a day? I dont think so.

I am going to guess that this doc is not part of an HMO. HMO docs dont have

any incentive for inducing patients to come in for mindless visits such as

blood pressure and things like that that a patient can learn on their own in

ten minutes.

Not likely! (Maybe extremely slightly possible, but not at all, even

remotely, remotely at all, likely).

Not likely would be true. Slightly possible is also true. People have died

from the blood clots caused by shooting air bubbles into their system. I

think I made it clear that I was only pointing out that the only reason the

doc could have for objecting to self-injection would be in an intravenous

scenario and even that is absurd because problems can be overcome with a

short training session. Why do you think the physician alway shoots a

little of injection fluid into the air before injecting intravenously. Its

to remove any air in the syringe because good medical procedure requires

removing risks, however remote. SQ does not involve that risk, however

remote.
