Guest guest
I got this nifty little package called " Ultra low total chlorine " from Dr. Store and it has 4 uses per kit. From the directions it soulnds like we time 40 seconds in the water waving back and forth and then read the results. I'm geared up for this but don't know how much 100 ml of water is. Where do you go to get that kind of info? Is there a website for basic information for dummies? Anyone had experience with this testing or others to recommend? How do we measure radioactivity with water? We can wet a paper towel and use the synchrometer for one. On the other plate what can we use for samples? Cigarettes for polonium? old kerosene lantern wicks? is there something in the smoke detectors we can use or old glow in the dark clock hands? How do we know what is alpha, beta, or gamma? Maybe just knowing that chlorox bleach is radioactive is enough...just chlorox on one plate and the water sample on the other. The instructions on the test kit said to use freshly captured water to test because " Chlorine tends to volitize out of the sample quickly " There is also a caveat about temperature. I'm wondering how freezing affects the toxins in the water or the boiling...any input is welcome. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
