Two comments:

1. Silver chloride is not toxic, but it is not helpful either, as far as I can

find. It is quickly formed in the body when IONIC silver is ingested and

contacts either the hydrochloric acid in the stomach or the sodium chloride

(salt) in the bloodstream. That is the reason I do not recommend the usual low

voltage DC " colloidal silver makers " , since they mainly produce ionic silver.

suspension in pure water by a tiny electric charge on each

atom...since I was told that making colloidal silver this way is safe

I believe true Colloidal Silver is completely safe, but only when used properly!

Proper use does not include daily use! In my studies I have come to believe that

Colloidal Silver should be treated like an antibiotic and used for acute

conditions only. The duration of any treatment course should not run more than

10 days, with the maximum being 15-20 days for severe conditions. Colloidal

Silver can create resistant bacteria with over or improper usage. There is

documentation to this effect from a case reported by the burn ward at the

Massachusetts General Hospital in 1999. Three patients there died from an

AG+(silver) resistant Salmonella strain. Why flirt with disaster by trying to

make your own Colloidal Silver when there are several brands out there that can

provide you with a quality product that is effective! I agree with Arthur that

Mesosilver is one of the best, but there are others as well. Another good

website to visit is http://www.silver-colloids.com . I would

also suggest a very short, simple and straight to the point book called

" Colloidal Silver Today " by Warren Jefferson. I hope this information helps you!

Pete, can you share the sources for your info on colloidal-silver-resistant

organisms forming? I have seen info to the effect that because silver stops

energy generation in the bugs, they cannot develop resistance. Actually, if it

kills them all, none can be selected to survive as a resistant strain.

Swedish study that was done on overgrowth of bacteria in Silver mines themself.

They actually found bacteria living on the native silver ore underground. I will

report back on that when I get more info. Don't get me wrong, Colloidal Silver

is better than any Antibiotic being pushed these days. I'm just concerned with

it being used properly!

I use an ounce of colloidal silver to rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth at

night. After several minutes of swishing I swallow it. The CS I make using

12,000 volts AC is mainly silver particles with few ions. I believe in regular

preventative use of CS, since it does not accumulate in the body nor cause the

development of resistant strains of bugs.

The sources you quote seem to be speaking of the Ag+ ion, not true colloidal

silver in metallic particle form, and thus have little relevance as far as I can

see. They are, I believe, tainted by their Pharma cartel connections as well.

I have been using home made EIS (electrically isolated silver) for

many years, the manufacturer of the generator I use (Silvergen) says

that it produces about 85% ionic silver and 15% colloidal, they never

claimed that it made pure colloidal.

In his book, Warren Jefferson states:

" Most CS today is produced by the low voltage, dirct current (LVDC)

method thaat generally contains 10 percent colloidal silver particles

and 90% dissolved silver ions. Many people are using this ionic-

colloidal silver successfully. You will have to do your own research

to determine where you stand on the issue od particles vs. ions. "

I wonder why so much of the book is dedicated to home made EIS (CS),

(it even includes detailed instructions about how to make one) if it

is an inferior product which has been suggested on this list.

I would suggest that anyone interested in colloidal silver or EIS,

should take the author's advice. The scientific mind by nature likes

to read contrasting reports, there is indeed contoversey on the

subject of ionic vs. colloidal. I am totally convinced by what I have

read, researched and tested that ionic is the hands down winner for

burns.

I have personally used home made EIS (CS) for many complaints over

the years that I have been using it which range from colds and flu,

through burns, diharea, haemoroids, bronchitis, wasp and jelly fish

stings to all the usual disinfectant uses which anyone can permit

themselves with the cost of home made EIS (CS), other uses include

spraying fruit and veg to prevent bacterial growth and decay,

cleaning work surfaces, using as a mouthwash, body odour

preventative, ... did I mention that I also use it with our pets?

Perhaps not relevant to this list, so I'll merely metion it.

A combination of EIS (CS) and DMSO (DimethylSulfoxide)can achieve

even more wonderous effects with bronchitis (using a nebuliser), it

will be much more effective with dermotalogical complaints such as

athletes foot (not a personal experience but one of a friend's

athletic son) but that's a whole different topic.

I have read with interest the recent posts describing the wonders or

a particular product brand, manufactured by a dedicated scientist,

tried and tested and " proved " to be the best. I challenge anyone to

prove that this " brand " does any better than home made with burns, I

sincerely believe that it would not do nearly as well.

What I personally love about EIS (CS) is the fact that it can be

produced cheaply and has the potential to save millions of lives. I

read about large quantities of money being spent to save people in

the " third world " and whenever they go vaccinating millions in poor

countries, it's always combined whith sanitisation programmes, that

speaks volumes to me.

When I see a " new " product trying to " replace " a tried and tested old

one with marketing techniques which I prefer not to comment on, I

cringe and see that even in the world of alternative therapies,

profit dominates many people's thoughts.

To provide quantities of this " wondersilver " to people in Africa,

India etc, might just be out of their price range, the price of rice

has gone up just a bit and they don't have so much available cash :-(

Not to metion the not so wealthy in Eorope, the US etc.

For anyone with enough money to accept this marketing sham, I would

suggest you buy a generator, calculate how much it would have cost

you to buy this " pharma/ big business " product and spend the rest

sending solar powerd EIS (CS) generators and water distillers to

little viallages in Africa.

Are the two people exchanging posts on this topic known to you all?

I apologise for taking up so much space but when I read someone

trying to tell me that what I have been using for years with

fantastic results is being branded harmful, I get annoyed.
