====>Is your son on meds for the seizures? Seizures can prevent gains from

any treatment.

Hello everyone:

I am new to the group and I have a 11 years old son with severe autism. I've

never tried chelation with my son. Perhaps due to ignorance and also a little

fear. During these past years I have tried various treatments, therapies, diet

and supplements in the hope of recovering my son. Unfortunately with little

success. My child does not respond to anything. Several months ago he began

having mild seizures also. My child has behavior problems, what concerns us most

is the increase in aggression and the obsession he has for years to break,

especially things made of glass, ceramic and similar materials. My son only

speaks a few phrases in English and Spanish to express their basic needs. Our

DAN doctor, who is also a homeopath, has tried to help, but we have not seen

good results. A couple of months ago we did some tests, including the porphyrins

in urine and we thought that would go out with high metals, but the doctor said

everything went normal. The doctor recommended some supplements and said that my

son came out with low glutathione levels and advised me to give L-Acetyl

Cysteine (NAC). I'm desperate to see my son get better. I would try the

chelation of the most secure way possible, but some things I still do not

understand well. My son is 11 years old and weighs 74 pounds. If someone could

help me with the doses that would be appropriate for him and the necessary basic

supplements I will be very grateful. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Barbara

Hi Barbara:

A couple of months ago we did some tests, including the porphyrins in urine and

we thought that would go out with high metals, but the doctor said everything

went normal.

** Porphyrin test can give a false negative, esp if the urine sample is exposed

to light for too long or shaken.

The doctor recommended some supplements and said that my son came out with low

glutathione levels and advised me to give L-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC).

** NAC is not the preferred way to boost glutathione; some people don't tolerate

it and there's some question of whether it stirs up metals. Vitamin C and

selenium would be helpful though.

My son is 11 years old and weighs 74 pounds. If someone could help me with the

doses that would be appropriate for him and the necessary basic supplements I

will be very grateful. Any advice will be appreciated.

** I assume he has no amalgam fillings (if he does you need to remove those

safely first). I would suggest starting with a few rounds of DMSA 12.5mg

(splitting 25mg capsules from vrp.com) every 4 hours round the clock for 3 days.

Schedule might look like this:

7am DMSA, vit C

Morning Breakfast, GSE (and coconut oil if he will take it), vit B

complex (w/ folate), magnesium, milk thistle, zinc

11am DMSA, vit C, omega fatty acid supplement (YES oils or whatever you prefer)

12 noon Lunch, vit B complex (w/ folate), magnesium

3pm DMSA, vit C, cod liver oil + mycellized vit A

Evening Dinner, vit B (w/ folate), milk thistle, vit E, magnesium

7pm DMSA, vit C. Optional: Candex enzyme before bed, along with probiotics.

11pm DMSA

3am DMSA

Coconut oil has antifungal properties. We use the organic coconut oil and milk

thistle (Silymarin Extract for liver support) from vrp.com. Nutribiotic GSE -

we put a drop or two into a small empty capsule after meals (before meals may

cause stomach upset) - start slowly.

B-complex - ideally one with pantothenic acid (B5 - for adrenal support),

niacinimide (not niacin), and folate as calcium folinate or 5-mthf (vs regular

folic acid). Klaire, Thorne and Kirkman use these forms. We're using Village

Green's B-Complex which only has a little B12, but sometimes give additional

sublingual B12 (Jarrow).

Zinc - vrp.com has Zinc Monomethionine in very small caps. Or a food-based zinc

from New Chapter but the tablets are hard to swallow.

Vit C - we use Ester-C or vit C powder (Ecological Formulas Tapioca C which is

corn-free) mixed in a bit of juice. Maybe 500mg per dose. There are also some

combo supplements with A, C, E and selenium which make things easier. We have

problems with beta-carotene so avoid that form of vit A.

Magnesium - we use Source Natural's Magnesium Malate (huge capsule, FYI) or

Ecological's Magnesium Taurate or Pure Encapsulations' Mag Glycinate. Since

DMSA pulls lead, you might want to do a calcium/magnesium supplement to provide

calcium to replace the lead.

Adding some glycine (Carlson's makes a tasteless powder which dissolves easily

in liquids) helps move metals out of the cells and helps with glutathione

production, but you can try that later. Glycine off-round seems to increase

yeast here.

I generally try to give oils away from minerals to avoid absorption problems.

If he has trouble digesting oils (floating poop or gas or rages after taking

oils) then you might give the oils with meal along with digestive enzymes

containing lipase and/or ox bile. In that case, I would do the minerals b/w

meals.

Sorry this is so long...hope it's not too confusing!

Hi PJ:

I was wondering about the amalgams fillings that you mentioned. My son does have

white fillings in his teeth, Is that something to worry about?

White usually indicates composites, but you can call the dentist and verify.

That would be the safest bet.

Hello,

First of all I am so sorry for your pain, and for your circumstances. Do you

have a teaching hospital in your City or somewhere close? The reason that I ask

is because teaching hospitals have clinics were they offer free or low cost care

for people that do not insurance or are under-insured. A friend of mine went to

the University of Miami/ Memorial Hospital here in Miami, and got her

spine fuse, and all of the subsequent care, pain management, etc. for free.

I don't know where you are, but you need to find out where you can go to get

treatment for free in your area. If you need help finding resources, e-mail me

and I'll help you with that, OK? Take care and I hope that you can get some help

soon!

degenerative disc disease. I don't have insurance, so it's been hard to see

doctors or get pain meds. I also have a lot of nerve pain (pudendal nerve) which

I can't get anyone to listen to me about. I tried decompression treatments for

months (paid for by a friend) and it didn't help, for reasons that would take

too long to tell now. Anyway, I'm in pain nearly all the time. I thrash around

in my bed and squirm in every chair. It sucks. I miss just feeling normal. Can

anyone relate?

Hi , and welcome

From: kevinpoyser@...Date: Sat, 22 May 2010 20:46:54 +0000Subject: ( ) new to the group

Hey all I am new to the group. I live in Northern Kentucky. My son was just recently Diagnosed with A.S. At first he was mis diagonsed with having A.D.H.D. which I thought was a little out there since he didn't have all the symptoms. After doing some research on the internet and talking to his Peditritian they agree A.S. is a more appropriate Diagnosis. However they would like us to see a developmental Specialist in Louisville after we move there just to see if he still needs his Ritalin or not. I feel bad because I use to yell at him for stupid things cause I just thought he was ignoring me or was not paying attention. However now that we have a better idea of what is going on the yelling as stopped of course now I feel real bad and have beatin my self up over it however I have forgivin my self and moved on. I have read several books on the subject and have learned a lot, now if I can just get the wife to read up on the subject...she still get's frustrated with him when she has to ask him to do several times to do something, of course then I get frustrated with her because I have learned so much about A.S. and she hasn't read any of the books. Any way just wanted to stop by and say hello. Thank you for allowing me to join the group. Rev. PoyserFirefighter/EMT

Thanks a lot for your response. I now have " indigent " healthcare in this county,

so I will finally be able to see a doc ANd go to pain management! Thanks for

Hi Amy,

Welcome to Bee's group! I am so glad to hear that you are reading and getting

feel for this program.

In addition to the articles Bee sent you, I wanted to tell you that children do

really well on this program. I have a 5 year old boy who has been following

Bee's program for 2 years now and he has made miraculous changes to his health

and well-being. I will tell you that it isn't always easy, but it is well worth

the effort to have healthy children.

If you need a hand getting them started on the program, let us know!

All the best,

(a group moderator)

Testosterone meds until you figure out why your low. If you find something

wrong and fix it your levels can go back up.

Most of use that have a Panic Attack with low T it is the Estradiol levels going

to high you need to check this do a Quest labs test #43021 if your levels are

over 30 best at 20 pg/ml you will need to get this down if your over 50 you will

need Arimidex to get this down most Dr.'s will not give this out let alone test

Estradiol.

I don't think the Visual Disturbances are due to your low levels of Testosterone

but if your Pituitary has a tumor on it this happens. The numbness and tingling

in your hands and feet might me your holding water in them high Estradiol levels

do this.

If you what kids later test your sperm if good and you need to be on TRT get

some frozen for a back up.

After all testing is done and you need TRT you can live a dam good life on it.

Your sex life and feelings of Depression and Panic will be gone.

I like to tell new men to go to Dr. 's site and read his free TRT: A Recipe

for Success in this are labs you need and why. If your Dr. is not up on

treating you don't let him send you to see a Endo they know less then he does

about this problem. See if he will work with Dr. over the phone Dr.

is one of the best male hormone Dr.'s out there.

www.allthingsmale.com

Here is a link that has links in it and shows you things that can lower your T

levels.

http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553

In this link you will learn all about this problem read it so when you see your

Dr. you will be up on this.

http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html

Try not to worry about this it's not the end all to your life. You did one dam

good thing for your self you looked into this problem and found us.

,

When we are feeling poorly and we start reading a mess of medical symptoms, we

tend to think the worst.

It could be something minor. For instance, you mention you're in good shape.

Have you been working out excessively without time off? Is it really hot where

you live?

Try not to think the worst. You'll probably need further blood testing as Phil

mentioned.

+++Hi Gail,

I understand how much information there is to read and how difficult it can be

when you have brain fog, etc.

Unfortunately if you do not read it wastes my time and yours for me to repeat

what is found in the articles.

Weight issues are the very least of your problems when you are so unhealthy. I

lost a lot of weight too, and at one point was losing 3 lbs. per day, but I

persisted on the program and my body gained more weight as I progressed on the

program.

When you are unhealthy your body isn't going to put it resources into adding on

muscle or fat when it has a much more important job to do, which is detoxifying

and rebuilding your body at a cellular level as this program does.

How long it takes to normalize weight is different for each person which depends

upon so many factors.

All the best, Bee

Perhaps find the suggested articles by Bee and print one (or two) of them

out.

Then you can read as much as possible before needing to take a break.

I have had to do that, too, just so I can absorb as much info as possible

here.

for over 20 years. I'm finding it difficult to read through all the info

required before my consultation. It is very difficult for me to read

because of brain fog, concentration problems, retention and memory issues

Hello Gail,

I know that Bee has already responded to you, but I wanted to encourage you to

not get so worried about your weight.

The first few months I was on this diet, I went down to 122.5 pounds. I am

5-10, if that helps to put it in perspective, and always looked thin even at 145

:)

I am happy to report that gradually the weight came back up. I am now in the

middle of what all the other " experts " would consider a very healthy weight

range, I look great :) and most importantly, I feel a heck of a lot better!

Trust me, you won't vanish :) Your body knows what it is doing! Hang in there.

Welcome,

It's a great group, very informative, supportive and educational. I too am bone

thin but I'm perservering because I hear the weight does return if we keep on

the diet. I lost 30 pound from illness and 6 lbs since I've started the diet

about a month ago. As my son said to me... " Mom, I don't think you have much

weight to lose. "

So I'm hoping I won't lose too much more because I will be or there will be

nothing to live off of. I'm 5'7 " and now down to 115. UHG!

Best Wishes to you. Gail

I added more healthy fat to my diet - but at the cost of losing a lot of weight

(over 20 pounds) that I really couldn't afford to lose. The result is that now

I am bone thin and still lacking in energy. I suspect that I'm consuming too

much protein relative to fats and vegetables. Also, my digestion has been a

mess. I recently started using digestive enzymes, which have seemed to help. I

have not tried the betaine HCl - but plan to. Anyway, I'm looking forward to

learning from this group.

Hi. Is your name ?

You should have received some posts when you joined this group. Ensure that

you read those.

If you're not able to find the information for which you seek readily

(believe me, its ALL here!), then go to Bee's website and use her search

engine for 'supplements'. There will be a couple of articles showing you

how much cod liver oil she recommends and her resources for obtaining it.

Also, you can use the search engine on the Group. Weight loss as

you're experiencing has just been discussed within this past week.

Welcome! Please sign your posts in the future as Bee likes to know the

names of her members.

probably been addressed in the past, is whether the dosage of cod liver oil
