Guest guest
Boy, did I get it wrong! I was listening and trying to write down what the rheumy said about my husband Monday. I thought he said " polymyelitis " . All I could find on the internet was " poliomyelitis " , another word for polio. Tonight, I found it. " Polymyositis " . Now I wish I hadn't. It's a degenerative condition, sometimes can go into remission with massive doses of steroids, but it will reoccur. Eventually it causes death as the deterioration invades the chest and the lungs or airway are compromised. Oh dear. Me thinks I read too much. Hey everybody, please say a prayer. The EMG is Friday. Maybe it is something else???? Laurie
Guest guest
Laurie: He may have said Polymyalgia Rheumatica...that was the first suspicion before I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. What about Fibromyalgia, also? I was also diagosed with that secondary to the PA. As the PA is treated the Fibro seems to improve - I have terrible muscle pain & weakness from the Fibro (I'm told). Look up Polymyalgia Rheumatica - there is alot of info on that and I researched that when it was suspected. Good luck!
