Guest guest
[ ] For Gillian Hi Janet Cheers it is supporting to know that I am not alone. I have not yet applied for my disabled parking sticker, as like you say, we have good days and bad days! However one real bad month, I pulled into a disabled parking space with my Mom as we had food shopping to undertake. Must admit my anxiety level rose, as I was worried about getting the shopping out to the car. I was on a stick this day, in hindsight I should have stayed in bed. Anyway we did the shopping and I asked one of the lads to help me with the trolley out to my car. Once I arrived their I notice a large sticker slapped on my windshield, informing me that I was 'illegally parked'. Now due to my condition, this was the straw that broke the camels back. Having placed the shopping and mom in the car, I hobbled off in search of the store manager. Tell you, I read him the riot act, in the middle of the store, in full view of other shoppers. I also added, " What do you really think I move like this and use a stick for the f****ing fun of it! " I really went over the top, but it was due to pain, honest. The manager literally shrunk in front of me, as if the ground had opened up and swallowed him! He then instructed one of his staff members to go to my car, with bucket and cloth, and remove the sticker, post haste! As for the family, well mom knows what I am like in a flare, and it concerns her. On the other hand my siblings have no real idea, as they live in England, so I still reckon they think I am looking for sympathy. On my last visit my sister-in-law lost her rag one day, said something like " I wish I had your disease as everyone would be paying attention to me! " I nearly fell over in shock, and Mom let rip in reply! This statement really worried me, but three months later my sister-in-law had a severe nervous breakdown, ended up being committed. As I said to Mom, perhaps if I had stepped back from the situation, I would have realised my sister-in-law was crying out for help? I also really get fed up of people telling me how well I look! I work at looking fit, even confine my garments to track suits, trainers, and fleece zip ups. I wear these garments because I find them easier to get on, and off. I also wear them because I try to trick myself into believing I am well. Mind you when my father was dying from Cancer, everyone kept telling him how well he looked. Yes I have been through some really interesting times, especially when I went to Vegas for a family funeral. My sister hit the roof because I was expected in England for my Nephews Confirmation. My Mom gave me her blessing, knowing that I always wanted to meet my American Cousins, before they died, or I died. My cousins here said " But you cannot go to America, because you are ILL! " Then they had the cheek to load me down with their WANT lists! It is as if there is a large void between able and disable, and I reckon PA falls into that void! Guest guest
There was obviously a miscommunication somewhere along the line. I did indeed send a message to Steve, and that is why his name was in the subject line at some point. Perhaps when I sent a message to you I failed to change the subject line. Sorry for the confusion. My husband's name is , not Steve. Would you be interested in meeting while I am in Ireland? I am there from Feb 20 to April 19, or so.
