Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm new to this thing, just got my book the day before Christmas. I decided to spend this week preparing to get started. You guys sound miserable. I hope I can do this. I am not very good at dieting I really enjoy food. But I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I quit smoking 3 years ago and I have felt bad ever since. I gained 25 pounds, I have terrible allergies and fibromyalgia. I don't like to exercise and I have insomnia. I guess I'll fit right in with this crowd. Please tell me what changes to expect and how long before I will see positive results. Also what salad dressings would you recommend. Wish Me Luck,

We are not really miserable, it is just because it is Christmas and it is difficult to stay on any type of good eating plan. This diet is a way of living and not that difficult to follow under normal circumstances. I haven't been good lately and I just came home from the fourth dinner party in a row where I overindulged and my stomach is already fighting back. As soon as the holiday eating is over, you will find a much happier and healthy group. Good luck. Sharon
Guest guest
Keep in mind, , that we are all fairly new to this too. I too have Fibromyalgia - major insomnia - along with pretty major back and structural problems (well - I'm not crippled but sitting is painful so have a level of disability) and I can tell you I feel better on the diet. I have gone off it pretty badly lately but am going to straighten up. Got my sugar cravings going again. Sure feel lousy. Do better on the diet though. Welcome. Guest guest
All I can say to this one is Bless Your Heart. That is a very southern thing, but it seems to fit in this instance. Believing in inclusion is not really the issue. They have no supports in the inclusive setting and are setting her up for failure. It is obvious you have untrained personnel on your hands. You can request that they receive training in the IEP. I would, in fact, insist that the ignorant so and sos get training. I just don't understand why they don't insist that teachers get CEUs especially in special ed since they have to include sped students now. You can vent to me anytime. Guest guest
Judy, I was banded a little over a year ago by Dr. Kuri in TJ, Mexico. He is a very qualified surgeon. I had never been in a hospital since birth (I was banded at 40), so I was nervous. I was happy with the quality of care, and I would do it again. If I ever have a band problem, I would go see Dr. Kuri first -- before I would see a local Doctor. The band has been used for several years in other parts of the world. The question really is are some US Dr's qualified. I also like Elise's reply regarding the travel. I paid 7500.00 for my surgery, plus travel for my husband and I. I know that Dr. Kuri has gone up from that price. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them. Tina Lerch 6/26/01 259/168/138 > >How much does the banding cost in Mexico????????? Guest guest
Judy - Last I heard, Prof Weiner in Germany seemed to be making headway with TriCare and getting them to cover the band for military covered people. There is an insurance group on that talks about this in depth, but I thought you might be interested. Insurance issues aside, I think going to Mexico is a great choice due to the experience of the surgeons there and the relative convenience. I was living in Germany last year so it was great for me to go to Prof Weiner who is also experienced - but living here Mexico is much more convenient.
