I noticed the same thing w/ my son who has been on Abilify for about 2-years. Just started clonodine 3-months. I am going to talk to his doc due to weight gain and eating so much. I'm worried about his blood sugar too. Diabetes is in the family.

My son was on Abilify for several years. It worked very well but caused huge weight gain and high blood sugar. We recently took him off and he lost 35 pounds in two months - still needs to lose at least 25 more. He is now taking Intuniv which seems to be working though we have had to tweak the dosage a couple of times. One of the biggest things I have noticed since discontinuing the Abilify is he is eating much less now – he was continually hungry when he was on Abilify.

Abilify is a good med. I take it myself and it makes a big difference. I only take 5 mg now.

I had my ds of 16 on Risperdal and it made him too tired he was falling asleep in school we had to take him off of it. We switched him to Abilify.

I hadn't heard of Intuniv. I'm going to look it up.
