I thought about it before sending it because I knew it would touch your heart for reasons beyond what most here know. :-) Below is Virginia's most recent e-mail I'm forwarding. Hey everyone, Just an update of my visit with the new doctor today. I am on a different hormone therapy for a month to two months depending on the results of a biopsy and if they will stop me from continued heavy bleeding. Premarin has stopped the bleeding I was doing and it was a lot. I have been transfused with at least 5 units of blood over the last two hospital stays as well as premarin therapy, ultrasounds, D & C, etc. The doctor I had at the hospital admitted she was not able with the instruments and skill she has to accomplish what needed to be done with me and she sought out a doctor in Columbia that could do what needed to be done. Today I met with that doctor and after exam and another biopsy the course she wants to take is to have me on birth control pills continuously for a month to two months. If that takes care of the bleeding like the premarin did. She tells me that for the upcoming procedure that the hormones in the birth contorl pills will make the uterine environment more prepared for what will be done which is a D & C removing any polyps etc and then doing a procedure called abulation which is using hot water to scald the lining of the uterus to prevent any further build up and bleeding problems. If the biopsy shows cancer then there will be a different course of action most likely ending in a hysterctomy. She does think that what is in there is a polyop or something that is benign because this is the third biopsy with two being negative of any cancer. So my course of action now is to try the birthcontrol and hope that it prevents the bleeding as the premarin has. It will also give me some time to recoup from all the hospital stays and procedures and build a little strength back. Now is when I will be getting hit with all the forms to fill out for financial assistance with copies of taxes etc, etc, etc. That is the latest. I want to thank you for the prayers you've sent up on my behalf and for the gifts in wishing me well and raising my spirits. Hopefully that is all for a while. I am some what pain free, just recently had epidrual block so I am thinking alittle bit more rationale now. So I am in search of a second opinion with a surgeon, So you had revision surgery? did you get fused all the why down to sacrum area? who performed your surgery? so many more questions but all start with those if its okay with you?
