Taking milk out of our 3 year olds diet made a huge difference in his life.

He was a real big head banger before. And was non verbal almost. After no

milk in his diet, he stopped. We are also GF to and on the SCD diet. That

really changed our lives for the good.

We use Blue Diamond Almond milk. It's very reasonable at Trader Joe's and my

son, who didn't care for rice, loves it.

, My kids preferred DariFree...which is potato milk. Tastes

creamy like real milk to me. It is GFCFSF.

It is powdered so you canmake as little or as much as you want.

It is great for baking and can be ordered from the company online which

is Vance's.

Some places actually carry it like Natural Health Foods store. I know

Wild Oats and Jungle Jim's carries it.

Hope that helpss....

My son will only drink rice milk now, they think cows milk tastes

funny. But please Be AWARE that I've been told Rice Dream DOES contain

gluten so check labels carefully

good luck on the switch

I vote for Vance's Dairy Free too. Potato based and tasty. My son does

drink rice milk though, West Soy Rice Milk. Rice Dream has pea protein,

soy, the last time I looked, it has been years.

Does anyone use almond milk or rice milk for their kiddos? We saw Dr. Usman

today for the first time, and she recommended that we go GFCF and Soy free

for 3 months. I am hoping to get some insight on the " milk " piece and how to

incorporate that into her diet.

Thanks for any insight.

Yes!! We love Blue Diamond's Almond Breeze. We use 1/2 Sweetened

Vanilla and 1/2 unsweetened for every cup. Well, maybe 65/35 but it is

a mix to help with the sugar intake. Also, I give my kiddo 1 cup of

the sweetened chocolate almond milk in the a.m. so I can put krikman's

magnisium and Nordic Natural CLO in it. It's pretty darn good! It's

funny, b/c this week I bought some Vanilla rice milk and my 15 month

old seems to like it,but not my 31/2 yr old ASD kid. Go figure! I like

the Almond milk b/c he is getting calcium, vit. D, and Vit E from it.

I just have to be careful he doesn't get too much vit. E through out

the day as it can cause problems over here.

Hi ,

For what it's worth, the only rice milk my son can tolerate is Westsoy, rice

beverage, plain.

We add calcium and vit. d.

He is sensitive to corn and most rice milks have canola oil. Fortunately, a

little co-op near

us sells it. I couldn't get it on line anywhere.

Good luck,

Dani

Here's Dana's page on phenols. Are you using No Fenol? I didn't look through

the list to see about hazelnuts or hemp. Locally, both hazelnut mylk and hemp

mylk are more expensive than the others.
