Hi Adam,Now would be a good time to bump your LDN dosage up to 4.5 mg nightly. This site has information about treating LDN-related side effects, including spasticity (stiffness):http://tinyurl.com/yosnk5Sincerely,DudleyDelany

Subject: [low dose naltrexone] 2 Quick Questions please :)

1: I have been on 3mg LDN for ms, for one month now, i noticed after

the first week i had slight improvment with atrength in legs, but not

great. stiffness slightly better.

Is it wise to go up to 4.5mg now? will i get more stiffness if i do?

2: Ive tried my the soap trick didnt notice any improvement in

stiffness, however i left the plastic wrappers on both of them is it

best to remove the wrapper?

Thankss :)

Hi Adam,

Yes please remove the plastic from the bars of soap. Also, you might want to give the liquid soap a try. The only problem with the liquid soap on your skin is if your skin is sensitive. I will resend you a post regarding this. It does not work for everyone, but I think it is worth the try.

If you decide to increase your dosage to 4.5 then see if you can get 1.5mg capsules (if you don't already) so that you can adjust downward to 3.0 easily (incase it does increase stiffness and is not bearable). It is always possible as well that it may make things better. Everyone's body is different.

Please us me posted on how you do

Aletha

Hi Everyone,About 1.5 years ago we had a lot of posts regarding increased spasms while taking LDN and how to deal with them. One interesting idea seemed to work for many people (about 1/2). They either put soap in their beds at night, or they rubbed liquid soap on their skin near where the spasms were located. We don't know why this works, but surprisingly for many it does. Below is a post from one of the many people that wrote in about it.See earlier post below [low dose naltrexone] 2 Quick Questions please :)

CC- I have had a little diarrhea since starting LDN- I assume it will go away. I feel ok about considering it is used for Crohn's disease and can heal the gut.Cheri On Feb 7, 2008, at 9:09 AM, Carolie Coates wrote:In reading the http://tinyrl.com/yosnk5listed below--it mentions diarrhea--that is bothering me--even at 1.5--has anyone else had this side effect. cc Re: [low dose naltrexone] 2 Quick Questions please :)Hi Adam,Now would be a good time to bump your LDN dosage up to 4.5 mg nightly. This site has information about treating LDN-related side effects, including spasticity (stiffness):http://tinyurl.com/yosnk5Sincerely,DudleyDelanydudley_delanyFrom: adamt2002ukSent: Thursday, February 7, 2008 11:27 AMlow dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] 2 Quick Questions please :)1: I have been on 3mg LDN for ms, for one month now, i noticed after the first week i had slight improvment with atrength in legs, but not great. stiffness slightly better. Is it wise to go up to 4.5mg now? will i get more stiffness if i do?2: Ive tried my the soap trick didnt notice any improvement in stiffness, however i left the plastic wrappers on both of them is it best to remove the wrapper?Thankss :)No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. I would try going to 4.5mgs if I were you. This is the optimal adult

dosage. If you're feeling good on 3.0mgs then you should stay there.

Try experimenting with taking LDN at different times. Usually take it

at 9PM? Try it at 10PM for a little while or go to 11PM. I now take

mine right before going to bed which is 11PM. I want the Naltrexone

in my system full strength as close as possible to when endorphin

production is supposed to commence, usually 2-4AM.

I am also taking 500mgs of DLPA at bedtime. Vivid dreaming is now an

understatement.

Thank you everyone for your replies :)

i have had ppms for 6 years now, symptons being, difficulty walking (

i can walk fine for a few minutes before needing rest), balance,

slight stiffness, bladder ugrency and frequency(every hour,

difficulty holding in)..

im probably going to try 4.5mg, as i feel the 3mg helped, but maybe

4.5 could help alot more?

as i have only had ms for a fairly short time (in constrast with alot

of others) , is it possible taking 4.5mg that i can improve my

mobility/bladder?

Thanks again.

My son had diarrhea (bad) the first week which completely resolved by the end of the second week. In his case, it was not the filler, as we changed fillers after 3 days to one we are sure he's not allergic to. We assume this side effect was due to the LDN making the immune system able to fight bad bugs in his gut that he was unable to fight before the LDN. We also have a report from another person that just started his son on LDN and is experiencing the same.
