That is not a " normal " TSH reading if you have been taking Synthroid,

even though it is within the reference range. The lab reference range

applies to people who are asymptomatic and unmedicated. Both the

American Society of Clinical Endocrinologists and the National Academy

of Clinical Biochemists have recommended the range be shifted to lower

values if you are treated. Unfortunately, many doctors do not know this.

Welcome to the list. Comments interspersed.

Hello, I am new to this group. I have a 5 yr old son who was DX

w/
ASD/ SPD (SI) at 3. We have been very vigulant with his therapies and
changed his diet to GFCF and have found lots of other intolerances,
we also stoped all vaccinees for the family.
We did find a Chiroprator/ Nutritionist that was a blessing. Clayton
was DX w/ Leaky gut and screened for food allergies.

*Have you considered NAET for allergies? www.naet.com

He was on a list
of suppliment for about 8 months and what a differance! WE have a
different child, but some things are still of concern.
I have been reading and looking into Chelation for over a yr. We
asked his Nutritionist about it and he was willing to do a urine test
and do oral suppliments.

* Don't let anyone do a challenge test because the high single dose runs a high

risk of redistribution of mercury into the brain. A DDI hair elements test with

counting rules applied is much more useful than a urine test. A doctor can

order the test or you can order it yourself through DLS (Direct Lab Services).

If you mention this group they'll give you a discount.

So far we have not done that. From what all
I read I think we should find someone that can do more extensive
testing and is willing to do TD. Being his system is soooo sensitive.

How do I find someone that can do it who is reputable? I have only
found one Doctor and he is 2 hours away.
*Many on this list do chelation without a doctor because it's difficult to find

ones who know how to do things correctly. If you give an idea of where you are

there may be others on this list who live in your area and can recommend

someone.

How long do you have to do treatments ?
*Depends on how toxic the individual is and which toxins (lead takes a long

time), how often you're able to chelate, how well your child responds to the

chelator and route you use, etc.

How long are they good for?
*Chelation, if done using proper protocol, removes toxic metals from the body.

It's important that you identify and reduce/remove sources of exposure. It's

good that you've stopped vaccines. If your son has any mercury amalgam dental

fillings, those will have to be removed by a mercury-free dentist using proper

protocol before you can safely chelate.

Has anyone heard of all these allergies in such going away from
treatment?
*Some have mentioned allergies going away. Some have used NAET or it's relative

BioSet.

Any help would be great!
Midnight,

Welcome to the list. Most people here believe that chelating a

child will work best if you chelate with the Cutler protocol for

dosing. It is hard to find a doctor who knows about this and

therefore many of us do this part of our treatment by ourselves. The

information you need is in the files section put together by Moria.

You can also find the supplements Andy recommends in a file called

supplements.

There have been a number of reports by parents and doctors that TD

isn't very effective for chelation. You may want to consider oral.

Most of our kids are pretty sensitive yet most also tolerate the

oral. I do realize that there are exceptions though.

Glad to hear you're having such successs with your son already :-)

My son tolerated no foods or supplements, and I used oral ALA with him

with much success. So don't discount oral, even if your child has a

sensitive system.

> How long do you have to do treatments ?

I chelated my son for 2-1/2 years. Other supplements took longer.

> How long are they good for?

Once chelation was completed and I had corrected my son's immune

system and his body's inability to clear toxins, I have not had to

chelate since.

> Has anyone heard of all these allergies in such going away from

My son has no more allergies/intolerances. No food problems, no

environmental problems, no nothing. It is very nice.

Good luck.

Dana
