Guest guest
I am leaning towards lead, as major contributing factor....my older three kids could all be put " somewhere " on the autism spectrum, and the diag. would have changed, depending on the year...However, my one girl is the " hardest hit. " (contrary to data that boys are hardest hit) Most outstanding about this, is that I scraped lead paint off windows while preg. w/her AND the house was like a total lead producing factory, imo - in hindsite...however, she did not develop " autistic " symptoms until grade school & I think that the shots she received contributed to that bigtime - without the shots, could she have not acquired the more severe autistic symptoms? (that one question makes me crazy)...there was a moment when I was told that the only reason they were not(would not look into) going to label her " autistic " (school employees) was because she was " too old " by then... In the long run, for my kids, I think it has worked to their advantage not to have ever been labeled...by my younger two children, I was aware of the lead issues & had changed our whole lifestyle - they would have gotten most of their lead, from me - while pregnant/nursing...also were my " longest " nursing children, and I think this made a difference too. These two definitely have issues, includ'g, but not limited to the belly/forgetfulness/migraine type things...but do not have the " autistic/add " personalities that the other three are prone to... I could be so wrong, but if I just look at my house, this is one of the things that " fit. " Part of the huge puzzle of it all... elizabeth > > Any Lead exposure? Mom's who have had metal exposures through either > vaccines or enviornment..such as growing up exposed to a lot of > Lead, do dump a lot of their body burden when pregnant and it does > go into the baby. Also, Andy has said that 90 percent of Autistic > cases are metal, the other 10 percent are something else.
Guest guest
Hi. Thanks for the replies. I did not find any good info except the diet. And the diet was supposed to only help immediate issues from recent exposure, nothing long term. There was a forum on mold in general and people affected but mostly people would say how all docs would just deny their symptoms were mold related and how frustrating it all was. One person posted he had a small boy and after a mold issue arose in his house the boy immediately regressed into a fog like state with no talking and all so he immediately removed his son from the apartment and within a month or son the boy just went back to his old self. But that was a small temp. exposure and the child was already 6 or 7 years old at the time. Our mold was black on the outside of the walls, I can't even imagine what the inside looked like. I foolishly thought that once I found out what the cause was it would be easier to try to fix the problem. I mean if I knew what caused it I could address it in a different way that would help, no? But since no one believed me, even our DAN, it hasn't helped. We have since moved to San and since (well, except this unusual last month here), it is so dry here, even my son's constant, full time runny nose has disappeared. So the only real gain I have from my insight is that he is allergic to mold and is physically better by being in a dry area. If anyone has any lists or sites or info on autism/mold I would love it. I found no info but after my intial reactions stopped looking and just started focusing on how to deal with all the bio-med. My husband says I am just looking to blame someone for this. If I ever find the time I will try to relook into any info. Do you think chelation would help? We were going to start that this month but I am not sure now? I think I just need a new DAN that can give me more confidence. My thinking was that all the mold caused yeast and gut and developmental issues which also caused him not to be able to get rid of metals like he would otherwise been able to so that made it worse. Like one thing caused a problem which caused a problem and like dominoes falling my son has autism in the end. Actually, I should be reading the bio-med book now, where do you find the time? --------------------------------- Be a better Heartthrob. Get better relationship answers from someone who knows. Guest guest
fwiw, these are sites on mold I have saved to pore over in my " spare " minutes - mostly from yesterday & today...unsure how useful may be...am also looking closer at hydrogen peroxide - a raising mushroom site opened that door, interestingly enough... toxicmoldusa.com tuberose.com/Mold_Fungus.html lasvegaslemonade.org/haynes_mold.html mold-help.org hadd.com taoofwell.com/newsletters/mold2a.htm and there is sickbuilding group that looks pretty active & promising.... and some keywords I have on hand for searches - stachybotrys chartarum, wallboard, colchicine, aspirin, of all things!,mycotoxic,grains,corn-kidney/estrogenic,aran,aflatoxin my apologies in advance for any typos - to my consternation, I can recheck & re-recheck & still have typos, (long-suffering sigh).. thanks all elizabeth > > Hi.
