The only thing I can mention, is what caused nosebleeds for two of my kids. For #1, copper deficiency, caused by when I tried to give him zinc. Massive nosebleeds. I have had to supplement him with copper. For #2, vitamin K deficiency, caused by giving him a lot of fish oil [once he tolerated it]. I added vitamin K and he was fine. For both these kids, the nosebleeds occured shortly after giving the zinc/fish oil. For #1, they happened after the first dose of zinc. For #2, they happened about a month after I started giving him fish oil. I would first ask what is triggering her massive fits. Dana
Guest guest
What we have found as causes of nosebleed in our home are: antimony exposure (new mattress or pajamas) Low vitamin C-they will bruise easily and break blood vessels with little effort. (aka: screaming would do it) Vitamin K is also a factor, or copper problems. Yes, first figure out why she is getting so angry. Add a multivitamin to be sure she is getting enough vitamin C and not popping blood vessels. I used to get occasional nose bleed just sitting there, along with bruises from nothing until I began with daily c. > > My one year old has recently started throwing fits with such vigor > > that she makes her nose bleed. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply Dana. I too am concerned about the fit throwing and would love to find the answer. I believe at this time that it is intolerance to something she is eating or a supplement. However she only has 6 foods that she (barely) tolerates so I can't cut her diet any more, inspite of the fit throwing. I know something is wrong with her b/c she has been so incredibly unlike herself these last few weeks. And I don't think it's b/c she's almost two either. Her personality is changing from a sweet, easy going child to a wild, fit-pitching looney. Today she has a busted blood vessel in her eye from the fit she threw last night. There is definately something wrong with her. We started NAET last week and hopefully this will open up enough food choices that I can start figuring out what's going on. Her hair tests showed normal copper, although she does have deranged mineral transporation so I'm not sure if that means her copper levels are accurate. She does receive zinc every day but her nosebleeds are not showing up soon after. She also received EFA's (ALA, GLA, LA & OA) daily, but no fish oil as she doesn't tolerate it. Could just regular EFA's cause Vit K deficiency? I mean, her diet is so limited that she can't possibly get all her vitamins/minerals in her food so I would totally expect her to be deficient in many thing. Thanks for your help! Guest guest
She seems to have trouble with Vit C. She does take a multi and her quercetin has Vit C in it, but she tends to get very severe rashes after being on C for a day; so she doesn't get much. As I mentioned in Dana's post, she does burst blood vessels from screaming, so that makes me suspicious; but I'm not sure what I can do to make her tolerate the C. I am so hesitant to do much with supplements for her b/c she can't tell me what makes her feel bad and b/c she's a universal reactor to everything! Thanks for you input. I will have to try other brands of C, I think, and see if there's one out there she can have. Guest guest
Not Dana but just some comments: Is she on any probiotics? My son's fits were tamer after going on probiotics and dealing with his gut yeast. He also was less limited in his food choices. My son had a broken blood vessel in his eye one time for no reason, along with the bruising. We took his c up to 1500 mg a day and it went away. But yes, getting to the bottom of the fits.... Does she drink milk? Does she have a problem with constipation? Since it has been such a drastic change in her behaviors, was she vaccinated recently? We had to pull all milk from my son, put him on probiotics, and anti yeast and not feed him anything artificial. After he calmed down a bit with the yeast and fits, we were able to put him a Spectrum Complete and begin supplenting him more. > > > My one year old has recently started throwing fits with such > vigor > > > that she makes her nose bleed. Guest guest
Try to find a C that has no additives at all and is ascorbic acid. You can also try a buffered C like Kirkman Buffered C powder. Multi's while helpful never had enough C in them. But yes, first try to get her calmer. See my other post reply on milk, yeast, etc. > > > > What we have found as causes of nosebleed in our home are: > > antimony exposure (new mattress or pajamas) > > Low vitamin C-they will bruise easily and break blood vessels with > > little effort. Guest guest
Hi Jan, She is on probiotics daily She has been on them since about 6 weeks of age (we have rotated a bit too) and she has only continued to lose foods. She seriously reacts to EVERYTHING. Her IgG test was the craziest one that the lab had seen before. She has off the page antibody levels to foods she's eaten only once or twice. She does not drink milk. She only tolerates 3 meats (organic) and 3 veggies (organic). No additives, flavors, etc, etc. She does have problems with constipation which we deal with by giving magnesium daily. If I forget a dose, she backs up, but if she gets it daily, she's good to go. She has not been vaccinated at all. To my knowledge nothing has changed. We do live on a military base so who knows if something new and toxic is floating around the air, but in our house, nothing is different. She started NAET last week and I saw on the schedule that the 3rd treatment is for Vit C so maybe by mid-week she will be good for Vit C and that will help. Thank you for all your suggestions and personal experience! Wyndie > > Not Dana but just some comments: > Is she on any probiotics? Most C is from corn, so that might be the problem. Try TwinLabs Allergy C, it is not from corn. Dana
Guest guest
Could be a terrbily low level of Vitamin B12; Vitamin B12 is the most complex of all Vitamins and is a unique essential Vitamin. Due to her limited diet; which caused Malnoutrion can be corrected with : Any good LIQUID MULTI-VITAMIN MINERAL FORMULA; use half dose to begin. If you give her 1/2 dose twice a day; I bet she'd be like a new girl ! However a limited diet most alwsys lead to a type of Malnutrion; easily correctable ; but like any disease; sooner treated the better. Note: EGGS are high in Protein and Vitamins/MInersa; can she eat eggs? > > > My one year old has recently started throwing fits with such > vigor > > > that she makes her nose bleed.
