Re: ( ) Where are we all from? Please include in

your repost!

yes they do as a matter of fact they have assign her in the efm program and

it helps keep her here in the US and near major cities and hospitals

because

she also has asthma.

( ) Where are we all from? Please include in your

repost!

I have posted this before but didn't get much response. I think we

would all have to agree that most if not all of our children have

social issues. They have a hard time making friends with children

their own age because of how wonderfully, special they are and no one

understands that. So I propose that the huge group we are (in between

our other posts for help)post where we are from (town and state-not

address-lol- don't need any stalkers) whether we have a boy or girl,

their ages and maybe special interests(you know they have them-my 13

year old son loves Pokemon). Maybe we can create a local network of

other parents and children so that maybe our children can form

friendships with other children that they have things in common with

and the parents can support each other at the same time.

So what do you say? Everyone shout out. If your post doesn't include

your email then include it. We can begin by emailing each other and go

from there. Don't let me down.

Thanks

We live in ville, IL (near St. Louis, MO). I have 4 year old son

with Aspbergers. His main interest right now is geography. He is

learning all the states and I have some surpises for him for Christmas

this year like a globe! :) He also loves trains, puzzles, computer

games, books & any type of " educational toy " like flash cards, etc...

We live in Cambridge Massachusetts, through June of this year. Then

we'll go back to our home in San Diego. is 19 and interested

in computers, history, and psychology. He's got a memory like a steel

trap, and knows the Civil War, and the World Wars cold. However, he

is not so good at remembering to empty the dishwasher.

We are in Jakarta, Indonesia right now. But are heading back to andria, VA in July or so. We are with State Dept and move around every few years or so. My son, Abe is 4 and was dx'd with Asperger's in August. He likes to "script" and will do scenes from movies all day. Favorites: the tank Engine and the Muppets. While we are on it. My eight year old ("typical") child sounds an awful lot like your kids. But I am pretty sure he is not on the spectrum. He does have those serious obsessions though and is very talkative about them.

Hi all...

I am from Dubuque, Iowa. I am married to an aspie and have 3 children.

9 yo boy diag with as--loves k'nex, video games, pokeman, history, science, math, non fiction books and picking on his bro and sis. Can't lie!

8 yo girl with adhd--loves things... Terrible ratpacker, no apparent interests unless it bothers mom and dad

6 yo boy with as and odd--happy to mad in a nano second, loves computers and video games, transformers and k'nex

All 3 are into club penguin. If you would like to contact me off list, I can exchange user names for buddy lists. Junecleaver@...

This group has been a lifesaver. There are so many things I can relate to in my own household that none of my friends can understand that are discussed here.

Thanks!

Hi,I'm Jerri. My daughter and I live in Louisville, Ky. How many of this group lives in Louisville? My daughter has a friend down the street who has Asperger's, ADHD, OCD, and Bipolar disorder. She has another friend a couple of blocks away who has bipolar disorder. These are high school aged children. They are great kids. They stick together when kids at school are mean and hateful and cruel. There is not a cruel bone in the lot of her friends. I think its great that they support each other like that. But it would be great if they had more support from a group that could help them cope a little better. Does anyone else in our group have high school aged children living in Louisville? I forgot to mention that my daughter has Aspergers, ADHD, and a severe math/spatial disability. She is very bright and in all mainstream classes. Please reply. jerri.
