Guest guest
Is anyone else ticked off that the FDA has made another horrible decision. It is endorsing and approving Risperdal for the treatment of autism even though they say it does not treat the core symptoms specificly communication. I think if kids need it, its one thing. Some kids are severe some kids are mild. This blanket endorsement looks to be financially motivated if you ask me. We discuss stuff like naturopathic things, GABA, 5htp, Melatonin, Vit A therapy, Chelation. I understand if some here use Risperdal or any of those drugs but I don't personally think its necessary in ALL kids. I guess I am in favor of autism being brought to the forefront however, maybe some things can help. I just wish the federal government would be more responsible in what they do. They did 2 studies that lasted for 8weeks each. On 156 kids. They state that there are approximately 300,000 kids with autism in the schools and this will help BEHAVIORAL DISTURBANCES. Although the website states its a drug for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. and an adult medication. Of course the risperdal website has info on autism on their website now. I hope I don't make anyone mad. I know all our kids are different. April. --------------------------------- All-new - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster.
