Guest guest
I cured both hand flapping and toe walking in my 1 1/2 year old (now 2) with EDTA chelation for copper toxicity over a three month period. This also eliminated hand posturing and hair pulling (his own). I used the same medicine on my older son (now 3) with no success. Unlike his younger brother, he did not show copper toxicity, therefore, the medicine did not work on him. Good luck. > > I'd like to post this question to anyone who may have some insight/info: > > How did you cure your child of hand flapping and toe walking? > > Thanks > > > > > --------------------------------- > Find your next car at Canada Autos > >

For my son, hand flapping was caused by viruses, B vitamin deficiency, and a few other things. I wrote about it here http://www.danasview.net/issues.htm Toe walking can be a sign of constipation http://www.danasview.net/constip.htm Dana
Guest guest
For my son, the hand flapping stopped within days of removing milk from his diet. This was back when my wife was still skeptical of the biomed approach. We tried reintroducing milk and he started flapping again the next day. Needless to say she got on board in a hurry. We are still working on the toe walking. Guest guest
First of all you have to determine if its a behaviour related issue, diet related one or a physical condition. In my daughter's case, after a lot of experiments with diet, supplements and OT approaches we finally agreed that it is purely a behaviour. Her PT evaluator then suggested that we get her hiking boots from Timberland and make her wear it throughout the day except maybe nap time. We got it ... and my daughter wore it all the time except when she slept. Its 6 months now and we started giving her small breaks and she DOES NOT toe wal any more !!! It also fixed her tippy toe kinda walk that was making her toes turn in-wards! ... Its worth a try ... here is the URL ... http://www.timberland.com/product/index.jsp? productId=1774036 & cp=1779793.1813434.1813437.1770705 > > > > I'd like to post this question to anyone who may have some > insight/info: > > > > How did you cure your child of hand flapping and toe walking? > > > For my son, hand flapping was caused by viruses, B vitamin deficiency, > and a few other things. Thank you for posting this. For my kids, improper zinc/copper ratio usually causes teeth grinding. This happens whether they are high zinc or high copper. I had given my son zinc for several years, but was able to remove it about a year ago when it started causing the teeth grinding instead of removing the problem. He was then fully zinc loaded. I had added it back a few weeks ago, just a small sprinkle every day, like maybe 5mg or less, for immune system issues. He started with the hand posturing about a week or so ago. He had never done that before, and he was not grinding his teeth, so I was in the middle of experimenting with what it might be. But after your message, I dropped the sprinkle of zinc and instead, for one day, gave him a sprinkle of copper. Then I removed both. Problem solved. Thanks! Guest guest
I used OralChelatoRx. I put 1/2 a capsule in Colby's fruit babyfood every morning on the advice of my doctor. > > > > > > I'd like to post this question to anyone who may have some > > insight/info: > > > > > > How did you cure your child of hand flapping and toe walking? > > > > > > Thanks > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > > Find your next car at Canada Autos > > > > > >
Guest guest
Dana, That's interesting. Now you've got ME wondering if the reason for my two sons' teeth grinding is their daily dose of zinc. I've been giving them high doses of magnesium (as directed by my DAN! doctor) and now they've got the runs...Maybe I should just lower the amount of zinc that I'm giving them. Lower or remove it, see if that helps. Dana
