Guest guest Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 Just joined recently, and ordered from Houston NI....got my order today! I'm very interested to see how this goes for my ds. He's been quite the adventure from the get-go. We do not deal with the autism spectrum, so I hope it's ok that I'm here, but he has had digestive issues from, well, birth essentially, allergies, low IgG1 levels (picking up every germ and bug that was in a 100 mile radius), reflux (still on meds for), and now our highest priority is his speech disorder. Was recently evaluated (still waiting on report for actual dx, but they were tossing around words like severe disorder and possibly apraxia) and are in the midst of getting his therapy going. We've also discovered within the last year that he's sensitive to high fructose corn syrup, which winds him up like he's on speed or something -- bizarre. I've been reading the book wrote, and I gotta tell ya, I'm fascinated. It just makes so much SENSE for ds! So, my biggest concern starting enzymes with him is the possibility of increased hyperactivity. Let's just say that's something he does NOT need. He's incredibly active already, so any advice on how to avoid that possible side effect? Debbie mom to , 9, my INTENSE child, and , 2.9, recovered MSPI/allergic colitis, reflux (on Zegerid), still some foods we've yet to try, loves and Bob and anything with wheels! Quote
