Guest guest
My name is Carren. i live in the Northeast and have one daughter who is 2.5. I have been lurking a little while & am trying to learn more about enzymes. I read the book but am still confused. DD is not on the spectrum but has had ongoing food/weight gain/digestion issues since she was born. She went through a period of extreme constipation for a number of months. One thing that really helped was prunes and prune juice. We stopped that a while ago when her problem seemed to get better. Now, she's swung the opposite direction. Her stools are very loose. There are *always* undigested bits of whatever she ate the day before. Just yesterday there was a large piece of mushroom in her stool (guess she's not chewing enough). Her stools are sometimes very smelly and change color from a pale brown to a darkish brown depending on what she eats. She is also an atrocious sleeper. Some nights she wakes 2, 3, 4 times. And she only sleeps 9-10 hours a night, if we're lucky. Could this be indicative of leaky gut? Does this seem like something a broad spectrum enzyme might help with. I can't seem to find a pattern to the foods she doesn't digest. I've found nuts, corn, prunes, raisins, mushrooms, peas, and who knows what else that I haven't identified. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
