Guest guest
Hi Kendra, s Helmet was made locally by an orthotist that works very closely with the neurosurgeon, so its not a Doc or Starband. He seems very good and said he was trained by the neuro. I have an appt. with the orthotist on wed. and the following week with the neuro. for a check to make sure everything is ok. The orthotist will be there also, which i thought was really good. They do add pads and stuff to make sure the pressure is in the correct places. On another note, because the helmet has shifted, the red spot has gotten larger. Is this normal? Can he still wear it? I really appreciate all your help. Thanks and > > Hi : > > > > I was just looking at 's pix (what a sweetie!). In my > opinion, I would say that his head is moderate to severe. Guest guest
: Sorry! Looking at your photos, I thought it looked like a STARband! It's even better that it's a local one (as far as asking about the negative mold), because the orthotist will likely have it there. Ask if you can see it (or have him make one). On another note, because the helmet has shifted, the red spot has gotten larger. Is this normal? Can he still wear it? As long as the spot fades in about an hours time, and there is no skin breakdown, it should be fine. Check him in the morning, and if it seems irritated, call your ortho for an appt.
