Guest guest Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Thank you , guess I was just hoping they made the shots safe now. I havent a problem arguing my girls safety, just like to hand over PROOF so I leave there with them THINKING about what I said and what they read! Guess what I try to do is inform and stand up for kids who are needlessly harmed. Not sure if the statement I have to sign will be done at the ped office or at the health department. I know when I went to get my sons 7th grade shot, they said I had to get a letter from the health department AFTER TALKING TO A NURSE and only if SHE decided I had a valid issue. Which going in there I thought gosh religion is probably the easiest route, but needless to say we got there and I allowed my 12 year old to receive a shot that I didn't feel would harm him (hes typical and never really has gotten sick in his life so far, extremely smart etc, but I left thinking omg what an awesome kid, what if I just agreed to ruin his life. SO no more shots for this family, just in case. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Quote
Guest guest Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 I am in Florida, now that is just what the school told me (about the nurse has to decide after our talk) Guess I will find out when we go for her well child check in June. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Quote
Guest guest Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 You most likely will not convince the ped. He/she is unlikely to look at anything and all of a sudden acknowledge that he/she is doing something that harms a number of kids. IMO, don't argue or explain, it makes it seem like you are asking for permission or understanding that you will not likely get. Just calmly and assertively state your position, it is your child, you have a right to make informed medical choices for her, whether others agree with it or not. 5 year shots Ok, My 5yo goes in her for Kindergarten shots this June and I need knowledge on them. She has had all her shots so far, shes not autistic, but she has a chromosome disorder that they blame on the lack of speech, attention problems, constipation epilesy etc etc etc I like to go into the ped with printed out INFORMATION in hand so that I dont have to argue or get upset, just hand him the paper work and say READ THIS PLEASE. I did have second thoughts on past shots and they convinced me that she needed them saying its like having a seat belt on when u crash, u might never crash but IF u do having the seat belt on is an advantage u dont wanna miss. So, then though alot of her problems started around the age of 9 months, and the " chromosome duplication " showed up shortly there after, I am unsure what has caused her problems (only 2 other children we can find in the world with simular duplications are NOT like my dd, they have feeding tubes cant walk etc etc) compared to them, my dd is next to normal which tends to make me believe the duplication shut itself off (which they said normally happens) sooooo whats her problems stim from? Her urine test showed high in antimony and aluminum, so I am leary of shots.... Although they blame both on her at the time mouthing everything, even finding deodrant and eating it. Anyways, whats the update on the " starting school " shots? Thanks so much! ¶*:._.:*¶*:._.:*¶ Lena ¶*:._.:*¶*:._.:*¶ Quote
Guest guest Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Hi ! Oh the birthday party was awesome! My 1/2 acre yard was full of kids having a blast. I even rented a popcorn machine so the adults had a blast around that haha. Wish u and ur kids could have made it. But I totally understand new hours. Really stinks u are gonna miss out on showers. I am gonna call Acosta tomorrow and ask for the titers check (is that blood work or urine or what?) How do u exactly say that, tie ters? Hate when I sound like I dont know what I am saying when I call to request something. Hes never told me no on anything. Actually I am calling because I still cant get her constipation under control. I want them to scan her, we have tried everything even lactose and miralax and adult doses at that, shes never had what I would consider " comfortable movements " her eyes even turned blood red and she strains sooooo hard. Keep in mind she just turned 5 and we have been going thru this since she was 6 months old. That crock in Orlando the GI can NO LONGER tell me shes holding it in, shes NOT! I want to take her to someone else. Heck anyone else, I can always say um we tried that. I just cant get why she drinks sooooooooo much and runs to the potty saying poopoo then only gets like 3 little balls out. Its like water isnt getting there to help out. I am also getting concerned that shes still so darn pale. We spend atleast 2 hours outside daily. Currently I have her on 1 tablet of DMG 1 caplet of Omega Complete 3-6-9 (not the kid one) I have stopped the calcuim, mag, zinc, and recently started giving her more orange juice for the vitamin C. Shes actually doing pretty good in school and we are up to about 20+ words (cant fully understand them unless ur in the situation like shes running to the toilet poopoo u can tell shes saying poopoo then. And I believe they have decided to put her in the regular class next year with an assistance for like 3-4 special needs kids like her just as the comfort of keeping them on track!! Awesome improvements I tell ya! But theres still things holding her back. I think I am gonna go ahead use more of that PCM-rx that we had her on last summer. Seemed it was pulling stuff out and I have half a bottle left. That and bioguard. Just to see what we get then. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Quote
Guest guest Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Yes, wish they were safe also, getting geared up with our religious exemption and praying noone kicks up too much of a fuss. What state are you in that leaves a nurse decide? That is new to me. We are going to stand firm. No more vaccinations. The only thing that probably saved ours from total dissimation was she got her MMR late, at 2.2 years. I wish you luck, Re: Lena/was: 5 year shots > Thank you , guess I was just hoping they made the shots safe > now. > I havent a problem arguing my girls safety, just like to hand over PROOF > so I leave there with them THINKING about what I said and what they read! > Guess what I try to do is inform and stand up for kids who are needlessly > harmed. Guest guest Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 I am with , totally. I have met this doctor unless you have changed and he isn't going to believe you. He all but laughed at me when I started talking to him about homeopathy. Just be thankful that he will agree to see unvaccinated kids. Most in this area won't. I started taking two of my kids to a peds in Orlando. Franz is her last name and she is also a homeopath. You may be able to get him to run titers on her. 95% of kids are still immune at this time anyway. I just know I wouldn't vaccinate. Not worth the risk. Getting a religious waver is easy. Just go to the health department and ask for one. Take her birth certificate, they are supposed to ask for it but they didn't ask me. It is as simple as that. They can't ask you questions and they can't say no. I will go with you if you want! How was your daughter's birthday party??? I am sorry about me working. I just got this shift and can't take off for anything for awhile or it can be given away. I am missing showers for three of my friends because of it as well. Take care of yourself!! Guest guest Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 My 12 year old daughter had grand mal epilepsy after receiving her mumps shot. And that wasn't even the MMR, which didn't exist then. Don't bother trying to convert the health dept. They will only tell you they are the health authorities, not you. But YOU are the authority on your religion, and they cannot take your rights away there. Especially in FL. Mississippi...that may be different. Peace Kathy E. Guest guest Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 How terrible, Kathleen! Did she ever have another seizure post the mumps immunization? Guest guest Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Dana, I have tried Magnesiums, Vit C, mineral oil, miralax, lactose, Candex, OoO, epstom baths, probotics, pcm-rx etc and TONS of water and watered down juices. The girl drinks like a fish all day up till about 7pm! As an infant they taught me how to remove it, shes took big and capable for that now. Any other ideas? ¶*:._.:*¶*:._.:*¶ Lena ¶*:._.:*¶*:._.:*¶ Re: Lena/was: 5 year shots >>Actually I am calling because I still cant > get her constipation under control. Guest guest Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Ignore anything the nurse tells you, the nurse at our pediatricians' office tried to tell us that they wouldn't let him go to school without them. It is the County Health Department where you get the exemption. (BTW, the pediatrician was on our side :-). Then when we took the exemption form I think it is 681 to the IEP, the special ed rep said, " I never saw one of these before! " I said, Now you did. Peace, Kathy E. Guest guest Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Yes, she did, several more and then some parti-complex seizures while she was in high school. She had to take anti-convulsant medications for several years after that, but finally recovered on daily extra B6. It put off her learning to drive and getting her first driver's license into her mid-20s. Peace, Kathy E. On Mar 22, 2006, at 8:09 AM, Cochran wrote: > How terrible, Kathleen! Does she eat constipating foods like milk, rice, bananas, apples, wheat? How much vitamin C and/or magnesium have you given, and did you give those doses of both at the same time? What supplements do you give? Any biotin, EFAs, selenium, calcium? Ever tried GSE? Enzymes? Anti-virals? Dana Quote
Guest guest Posted June 25, 2006 Report Posted June 25, 2006 HI Lena -- I'm searching the old messages [i-)] for other people with similar kids. My son and your daughter sound very similar. Have you had any success lately? > >>Actually I am calling because I still cant > > get her constipation under control. > > > > Constipation ideas > > http://www.danasview.net/constip.htm > > Dana > > > > > > > > > Quote
