Guest guest
My 4 year old is on AC protocol with dmsa/ala. He has done 15 rounds that went well. We do battle yeast off and on of course. He is on all the vites and such as well, probiotics. Lately we have been having a horrible time with him. My hubby and I are ready to run for the hills. He has been so impossible. He does not listen to anyone, he is mouthy, and defiant..and extremely stubborn. We have always had some issues like this with him, they come and go. They were getting better and had become more manageable with chelation. But not lately. He is also waking up incredibly early for some reason the past two weeks or so. Like 5 am...and he will not go back to sleep. This happens with or without melatonin. He goes down at night fine. Just wakes early. I keep thinking I am overlooking or missing something here. I can't beleive he is this horrible for no reason. Discipline seems to have no effect on him. He doesn't care if he goes in time out..he will repeat the ill behavior again. He has taken to calling us names when he doesn't like things. Anyway..I used the flashlight to check his pupils in the dark..as I did with myself and dtr..for we both have adrenal fatigue. We are on Cortex extract for it. I never thought to check him..I don't think his hair test indicated it as our did. But his pupils dialate and don't contrict much at all, nor do they stay constricted. His pupils reacted worse than mine do. I started him on 1/4 cap of Adrenal extract today. Is this the rigth route to go? And since his hair test did not meet counting rules...just high for other metals..wouldn't this mean he has mercury somewhere? If his adrenals are showing fatigue? Sorry this is so long..but I have got to help him, my husband is pretty close to resorting to spanking him, which I don't beleive is the answer. He is on GSE and probiotics. I am seeing yeast on his tongue and a rash on his bum. So maybe yeast and adrenals are the problem? Am I on the right track?

Is this the rigth route to go? Yes. Try it. Give him plenty and see if it helps. >And since his hair > test did not meet counting rules...just high for other > metals..wouldn't this mean he has mercury somewhere? If his adrenals > are showing fatigue? No, not necessarily, the other metals may do it. If you are chelating you'll get the mercury. You MAY be in the middle of the " stall " period if it IS mercury, and what you are seeing may be his body starting to dump it. THis can be hard to figure out until it is all over. > Sorry this is so long..but I have got to help him, my husband is > pretty close to resorting to spanking him, which I don't beleive is > the answer. ly, let your husband give it a try. If it doesn't work after a few days your husband will probably " get it " that it must be biochemical, and it it might work well enough to reduce the number of outbursts for a while and let the pills have some time to work. > He is on GSE and probiotics. I am seeing yeast on his > tongue and a rash on his bum. So maybe yeast and adrenals are the > problem? Am I on the right track? Sounds like it to me. If it is mercury you may be in for a few months of this, but in that case it is doubly important to fight it. If the issues seem impulsive or sudden, try some GABA too. Guest guest
I'm sorry Jan, I don't have the answer to your question, I'm wondering about this flashlight check. What exactly are you looking for? I don't understand this. Do you mind explaining it please? Giving supplements when they were no longer required, too high or too low doses of certain supplements, EFAs without mito cocktail, yeast, bad bacteria, viruses, recently mineral deficiency, probably others that I have not written. It does sound biomedical. Sorry I can't give more specific info. Dana
Guest guest
One way to check for adrenal fatigue is to go into the bathroom. Stand in front of the mirror. Turn out the lights. Use a flashlight shown into the eye from the side. Have the person look into the mirror while you are doing this. Their pupil should constrict in response to the light and should stay constricted. If it constricts and then dialates and keeps trying to constrict/dialate this is a result of adrenal fatigue. This method is described on NaturalThyroidHormones group. Adrenals are responsible for this function in the eye and thus the reason many with adrenal fatigue are light sensitive. > > > > > > Anyway..I used the flashlight to check his pupils in the dark..as I > > did with myself and dtr..for we both have adrenal fatigue. Guest guest
What do you do for adrenal fatigue? Guest guest
Yes, it is a medical condition, but good luck finding a doctor who actually recognizes it or can properly test for it. Usually a saliva test is what you would want them to do. We are using a glandular product called Adrenal Cortex Extract by Nutricology. It works very well, it is organic and contains the right stuff to support adrenals so they can heal up and later on work on their own. Adrenal fatigue usually occurs from longer term mercury exposure or with chelation in removing the metals. Metals are a stressor on the adrenals. In turn, if the adrenals are untreated, you will see hypothyroid issues develop. The thyroid tries to make up for what the tired adrenals can't do, and thus thyroid fatigue. In any event, others choose to treat this through a doctor using things like Cortef, or Isocort. We chose to naturally treat it and assist the body with healing and eventually recovering it's own function. You can order Adrenal Cortex Extract at Iherb.com They have the best prices. You may find some useful information on NaturalThyroidHormones group in the files section on adrenals and treating them. I have found this to be KEY for me and my dtr..and now possibly my son. For years I had this edgy, couldn't sleep, short fuse, nervous, feeling. Stressed or frazzles, over reacted, sensitive to light and noise...I didn't realize it was related to adrenal function. Taking that supplement has made those things go away and I no longer seek antideppressants to keep me calm. There are also herbs many people use to support the adrenals like Licorice root. > > > > > > > > > Anyway..I used the flashlight to check his pupils in the > dark..as I > > > did with myself and dtr..for we both have adrenal fatigue. Guest guest
This is me! I hope the saliva test that I finish tonight will shed some light. I already have a prescription of cortef filled and am dying to start it tommorrow. I hope this helps me feel better. I get so agitated over everything and don't really want to be in my own skin. If it wasn't for the Cortef prescription I have I would be seeking Zoloft or something tommorrow to help lower my stressed out feeling. Wish me luck! Maybe the light sensitivity I have been batteling will go away as well. > For years I had this edgy, couldn't sleep, short fuse, nervous, > feeling. Guest guest
Thank you for your explanation Jan! I performed the flashlight test on myself, and no suprise, I continued dialating and compensating. I will do this on my kids in the morning. I appreciate you taking time to explain it. One more peice of the puzzle for my kids...
