Andy says that it's the Hg that causes a person to hold on to other metals like AL, and if you get rid of the Hg, the AL will eventually go away. (I know it makes me sound like a Moonie, beginning a sentence with " Andy says... " but so far he's been pretty much right about everything for me and my son. And his chemistry makes the most sense.)In my son's hair tests over 3 years, AL is slowly slowly coming down and my son is nearly recovered. > What do you think of the twice a week thing? IMO anything that chelates metals should be dosed on the half-life, because not to do so means that metals are stirred up and allowed to resettle someplace new, causing further damage (redistribution). So if were me, I wouldn't be doing it on that schedule. Or EDTA as long as there's a possibility of Hg. Nell

What does dosing based on half-life mean? I assume I'd have to find out the half-life of the individual substance since each one is different? Guest guest
Here's a link to a website which says EDTA has a half-life of 42 minutes. I didn't read the rest of the site, so not endorsing it. Guest guest
Well you would have to find the half life of just the things that have the capability to cause redistribution. And that is correct, each chelator has a different half life, dmsa, 4 hours, ala, 3 hours and dmps, 8 hours. That was very helpful. So that raises another question for me...why then, is there a 2 day on/several days off dosing schedule? Is that to allow the body time to excrete what metals have been pulled? Guest guest
, my doctor gave me the Detox Max product also. I haven't used it yet. --- Stroyan <lstroyan@...> wrote: > Thanks! Would you be willing to share with me (on or offlist) what dosage schedule s/he gave you? If you want to contact me offlist I'm happy to talk more about it, though of course I'll let the list know what happens anyway. Thanks! Is that to allow the body time > to excrete what metals have been pulled? The 3 on/4 off is mostly to accomodate school schedules. People start Friday afternoon and go through Monday morning. You could go much longer, if the body is managing well, I think up to 3 weeks (I don't remember exactly because who could get up that many nights in a row?). Yes, the body does need a break to regroup, because dragging metals around is stressful. But even when I was homeschooling and had no schedule to work around, I usually did 3 day on/4 days off just because I couldn't have that much interrupted sleep in a row.
