Guest guest
Congratulations to all the ABA wins. Well done! Our Tribunal date is on Tuesday 18th July. So far we have seen a change in the way the Nursery is recording the daily session reports (i.e. over the last week, as the last of the late evidence has been submitted). All the glowing reports about our son compling to all the targets all of a sudden seems to be shadowed by " behavioural " issues. When we enquired if there was any resistance to introducing new targets we were told he joined in beautifully etc. Also one of our key witnesses advised that he had run out of time to complete the assessment reports in time to be submitted as late evidence. He will attempt to get it submitted on the day, if it is not accepted he will orally give witness about his assessments and reports. We have not had a very supportive impression from the head teacher at out daughters school, where we hope to send our son. We have asked for a meeting as she wrote to LEA saying that we have a " mismatched " opinion of our sons abilities compared to the professionals reports (which were done 6 months ago, and because of the ABA/VB programme has made considerable progress). She also mentioned that we have " unrealistically high expectations " of our son. We have not received a reply to our email. Not the kind of character we feel comfortable about entrusting our childrens education to! She has never met, nor observed/interacted with our son. Now to arrange tutors and childminders for our children for the day, as we understand it could take in excess of 4hours at the Tribunal. We are also moving 2 days after the hearing. All happening at once! Wish us luck everyone, we have our evidence and are as prepared are we can be after nearly a year of battling to get to this point. Fortunately our son is a winner already because of all he has achieved in the past year and will continue to be despite the system. Good weekend everyone.
