Guest guest
I tried the writing a letter to the school, they wouldn't even let him get his schedule. So we went to the health department and I allowed the shot (hes 13 and never a problem with shots before) I took a chance yes, but as active as he is in the woods and skateboarding I decided to allow it. So far so good (this was last year) I got an exempt for my girl from her doctor till November when we go back to the geneticist. Her... NO CHANCE NO REASON!!!!! I dont care if I gotta go to President Bush! I watch videos of her prior to 1 year of age and then BAM! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lena *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Guest guest
No shot is mandatory. Even if he gets a cut and they want him to have a tetanus. This depends on where you live and what he was cut with. Do some research on how tetanus is contracted. We passed up my daughters Td. That shot still contains thimerosal as far as I know. I am unsure on the homeopathic remedy sign off thing. As far as I know if you can buy it you can use it. Unless you are referring to providing proof of treatment via using a homeopathic remedy. Guest guest
I second that. No shot is mandatory. Guest guest
I know this does not help you now but always file an exempt letter that is notarized and includes the proper wording and quotes the exact law of exemption for your state. This way if they refuse you, they are breaking the law and you have legal grounds for them to let your child into school. You can do this with your daughter too, if you haven't already rather than trying to renew the medical one over and over. With the medical they are expecting that at some point she will be medically able to be vaccinated. Our beleifs about it however, do not change. Please for everyone, bear in mind that the individual tetanus shot, both brands still contains mercury preservative. > > I tried the writing a letter to the school, they wouldn't even let him get > his schedule. Guest guest
Dana, Great information!! I find the alternatives interesting. Since now days most all of us clean a wound, and many of us visit the doctor and automatically recieve antibiotic therapy following a serious wound. It would seem that tetanus would not be a problem. > > I know when they get an injury it becomes mandatory > > right? > > > No > > Here is an alternative to the shot > > http://www.mothering.com/sections/experts/tenpenny- archive.html#tetanus > > > > Is it true that doctors have to sign off on > > homeopathic solutions for vaccines? > > > Not so far as I know. > > Dana >
Guest guest
If and when he gets injured, make sure you give the tetnus/diptheria shot since last I checked (unless things changed) the tetnus only shot still has thimerosol. Guest guest
, Several years ago, before I had discovered the mercury link to our daughter's health problems, she was injured. As a young teen she was 'due' for her booster. Folks in te ER were pushing it. I did know that her 6 yr DT had sent her to the pits health wise. She had been pushed into a rock bed. It saved her life! but she had a cracked buckle plate, 2 teeth missing , dirt and gravel in mouth and root spaces. I just could not authorized the booster-thank heavens! It was a very difficult decision then but would be a no brainer now. Down the road a few years - her younger brother sheared his lower front leg on a metal dock. Skin/fat were missing, bone intact. Once again they were saying the tetanus was mandatory. By then I had discovered the vaccine connection so the 'NO' was an easy answer. His wound got infected, needed IV antibiotics but eventually healed. For this one we were also pushed to do a series of debridements in the operating room leading to eventual skin grafting. He didn't need any of this for healing. It's difficult to stand your ground when in emergent circumstances. One thing we've all learned is that our children depend upon our best judgement even if it contrdicts mainframe routines. In our state, Ia, you can just pick up the vaccine form, fill in the info, take it to the courthouse to get notarized and hand it in to the school. That should be the end of it. No explanations needed. The nurses should only be concerned about having their paperwork meet mandated standards; not why you will/will not vaccinate. > > My son just had his annual well child physical. Guest guest
THI was withdrawn from pediatric vaccines starting in 1999 (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 1999) over concerns that organic mercury is a known neurodevelopmental toxicant. Nevertheless, THI is still used in influenza, diphtheria toxoid, diphtheria toxoid and acellular pertussis (DTaP), and tetanus toxoid vaccines. http://www.ehponline.org/members/2006/8881/8881.html Donna > > > > My son just had his annual well child physical. It would seem that tetanus would not be a problem. My info is that tetanus is anaerobic, which means if the wound bleeds, tetanus is not an issue. So when my kids get hurt, I always make sure there is a little blood. =) Dana
Guest guest
The key word here is Pediatric. Some of our youngsters are weight appropriate for the adult dosing which still has thimerisol in the vials...Our pediatricians office was so amazed to find this out when we read the insert together!
