I've been taking low dose Milk of Magnesia as suggested in another forum. They said it is like Nature's Valium and has a relaxing and calming effect and works as a muscle relaxer as well. They recommended it to be the cheapest form of magnesium, and it is quickly absorbed because it is liquid. I use the wild cherry flavor. It tastes great too. I started taking it to help with my tapering off of Tramadol in prep of getting on LDN. I've gone down slowly from 200 mgs of Tramadol a day to approximately 62.5 mgs so far. I sometimes boost it with a Tylenol. I've had somepretty uncomfortable moments during this taper especially for the three days following each time I go down more, which is about once every 7 to 14 days, but it's been tolerable with the help of N-A-C, DLPA and vitamin C( thanks to suggestions from members here), M o M, flax and fish oils and turmeric. I take other supplements as well , but I

mention the ones most helping with pain, stiff muscles and inflammation. I hope the last leg of this taper doesn't get to bad. It's a little scary. I welcome any support from those who've been down this road successfully. Where are you folks? Talk to me either here or PM my email. I can't wait to be off the Tramadol so I can start the LDN. I will be getting LDN on my own as I have no Dr. who wants to know about it...UGH!!!!! I'm not waisting my time with them at this point! Back to the magnesium....I take 1 Teaspoon of M o M in the morning and right before bed time, I take 1 Tsp along with a potassium pill. I also keep a few bars of soap in my bed near my legs to help avoid restless leg which from what I've read, can happen in withdrawal. This amount of M o M has not caused any diahareha, as a matter of fact it has normalized me. I have suffered with UC, diverticulitis,

and chronic constipation for years now and this protocol has had an added benefit of calming those symptoms down. I like thousands of others had no idea that Tramadol was just like a narcotic and feel "duped " to find I am now having to put myself through a slow detox to get off of it. I was assured as so many others were that Tramadol was non-addictive when I first started taking it for Chronic back and neck pain, Fibro and UC over 10 yrs ago.

Hi ,Magnesium deficiency is said to be fairly widespread in the U.S., and it never occurred to me that MOM could be used as a source of that mineral. Thanks for that tip. While you are waiting to take LDN, you may find these sites of interest:http://tinyurl.com/39b3svandhttp://www.webspawner.com/users/ecsuctx/index.htmlWith best wishes,Dudley Delany
