Guest guest
Don't do challenge tests. They cause serious redistribution and the doses are way high. EDTA is not good for mercury. DMPS is but not as an IV and as a one time dose. Andy has said that kids on the spectrum should not do IV chelation. You can chelate him with dmsa/ala yourself or see if your doc is willing to try oral dmsa, oral dmps etc. Maybe letting him know you don't feel comfortable doing another one time IV dose. He may be open to using Andy's protocol. IF not you can get him to prescribe the dmsa..just dose it yourself. Or you can purchase it yourself. What would be most effective is the dmsa/ala together. Did your son's hair test indicate mercury according the Andy's counting rules? (See files section) You can purchase dmsa from www.vrp.com It is $28.95 for 120 caps of 25mg each. Which you would be dividing up so it last a long while. Dosing is 1/8 mg per pound given every four hours. Every three if using ala with it. Hair testing does not have to be done, but periodically just to keep tabs on things like copper. Maybe say once or twice a year. We plan to do once a year. Some here do every three months. Following the recomended supplements for Andy's protocol are needed too. > > Hi, > > I really need some help here as I feel I am wasting precious time. > We started the DAN protocol in August. Guest guest
Jana, I know that IVs are very popular right now, but they certainly wouldn't be my first choice for a four year old. I have read quite a few very sad stories involving IVs and, for me, the risk is not worth it. If your child pulled lead at 17 with oral chelators I would think that oral chelators (AC protocol) would be an excellent and safe choice for him. Many people find, especially for kids with lead, that DMSA combined with ALA is the best option. It is very inexpensive (bottles last forever!). I do a hair test every 6 months, no more. They are helpful, but not necessary. I also do blood tests every now and then to monitor liver function. I hope this helps, Anita > > Hi, > > I really need some help here as I feel I am wasting precious time. > We started the DAN protocol in August. Our son is 4 years old. This combination is likely to cause SEVERE yeast overgrowth. If you are only giving Nystatin to keep yeast under control, it is probably not sufficient. > My main question is, should I get another IV? our son has been very > aggressive lately and bad visual stimming. I think you answered your own question. Try increasing your yeast protocol. GSE plus Candidase enzyme works very well for my kids. I used oral ALA for my kids. Good luck. Guest guest
Thank you! I know, sometimes it takes writing it down and getting all the facts out to see what's really happening! danasview <danasview@...> wrote: > 4) valtrex > 5) LDN > > We then went back in October and he received an IV DMPS and IV > EDTA.
